I know I don't drive an Alero, but you guys should be able to help anyways.

I've got the 3.8 L v6 in my Park Ave with dual Flowmaster 40s for exhaust. I lvoe the way it sounds, but it's not as loud as mean as I'd like it to be.

So... would chopping out the resonator and just replacing it with a piece of pipe make louder but still keep the good sound. Like right now at idle behind the car it sounds badass (imo), and I'd like to keep that same rumbly sound, but make it louder.

I hope you guys know what I mean.

Also, as for loudness.. right now I can run straight cat/resonator with NO mufflers and could still get away with it as far as noise goes.. it's pretty quiet.

So yea.. would 3.8L v6 + cat + dual flowmaster 40s - resonator = good sound?

taking away the resonator might rough up the sound, but I'm not sure about the volume. Probably a little louder, though.

Dont take the resonator out, just put new cams in ;)

As far as I red, Resonator gives a deeper sound. I guess taking it out would only make the sound a bit more raspy.

resonators keep the raspy away, which is why i want to have a huge one or two

Ah, I always thought the resonator was a cancellation thing, where as the pipe gets bigger the the noises bounces around and cancels more.

Well the deeper the sound the better, so it stays!!
