one will be a converter, one will be a resonator(helps quiet the exhaust) if you get a high-flow cat you will get codes, so you will also need an o2 sim.

No. Both are catalytic converters. High flow cats will not throw codes. Even if it did, who cares, it's the rear O2, doesn't affect anything.

Go to AutoZone. Buy a universal cat with whatever in/out size you want for $68. Go to Midas, have them weld it on for $60.

um, we may have different exhaust, but mine had a cat and a RESONATOR, and yes when i installed my high-flow cat i got codes for the rear o2, talking from experience not talking out my ass.

and yes it does affect, it keeps the SES light on for catalyst efficiency.

Yes there is a cat and a resonator, but he wants a catalytic converter, and the link he had has two items, he wanted to know which to get, so when you said one's a cat and one's a resonator, I said it's wrong. :)

From others' experiences, if you install your high flow cat right, no codes will be thrown (I don't know how you can do it wrong, but everyone with the Magnaflow High Flow cat has had no issues AFAIK). The "Low Catalyst Efficiency" code is nothing more than an annoying light. No perforfmance effects, are what I mean.

i have a magnaflow high-flow cat and i had to disable the code, and like i said my car originally had 1 cat and 1 resonator, maybe the 4 cyls are different. i know he wants a converter, but he might as well remove the resonator at the ame time.

What will the difference in the size do for me? Im not really looking to change the sound... just want better gas mileage bc right now im getting killed. I had a lot of issues with my coils and after that i got a code(wel my mechanic told me) saying im now having issues with the catalytic converter. I have a guy at a local shop here whos going to do the welding for $20... seem like a good deal?

they have to make adapter piping, easy for them. stock exhaust is 2" or something. if you plan on going with a bigger exhaust soon just get the 2.5", if not, buy a 2" from autozone.

whatever you do, don't go to Tuffy, where they think it should cost $600 for a new cat installed  man that guy was hilarious to talk to. He acted like he knew all this shit on the LD9, I totally owned him.
