i know my trannys perfect no issues but i do notice it shifts harder than most automatics ive drove would be nice if that smoothed out a bit.

the hard shifting could do with how hard you drive the car. take the positive of your battery and stomp on the brake pedal and let it sit for like a half hour hook it back up and go take a nice calm easy drive. It learns how to shift by how you drive so if you are aggressive it will shift accordingly and learn to keep doing that.

how many miles does it have on it? if it is more than 60,000 and it hasnt had a flush and filter change I would do it.

ok got it back it deffinantly helped. it smoothed out the shifting i was kinda hesitant to do it but so far im happy the mechaNIC admited to me that it was hard getting fluid level he said he overfilled it on pourpose then drained it from the side until it stopped pouring out but i hope thats ok. should i look to see how it drives when its cold i tested it hot and was perfect.

No, that's not okay. The "test" to see if you have enough transmission fluid is to open the side drain cap and if fluid comes out, it's filled up to where it should be. He drained it until nothing came out. Bad.

yea thats what im worried about he said he put it back on the second it stopped pouring out but it was still dripping how much should i add then?

You should take it back to him and have him refill it. I don't have my Alero anymore but I swear I thought you could check the tranny level

yeah i'm not sure how you can get an actual trans fluid level reading, all i've heard is open the drain plug, if fluid comes out, it's filled to where it should be o_O

well im gunna cross my fingers he said it was coming out so hopefully im good. im still surprised it made a difference in feel i figured at 60k it wouldnt be a difference. plus so many people are against touching tranny fluid and filters.

^^ Those people usually are afraid of what to do with a tranny.

if its shifting a little hard would that be indication of underfilled or over filled?
