I would bring it to a mechanic, I believe it does require removing the transmission.

There are no shift kits for the 4t45 tranny, but there is a shift plus kit by B&M.

There is no removal of transmission required.

There is a how to on here. I believe it was posted by Oldsman quite a number of years ago. The shiftplus kit is for a 4L60 / 4L80 but will work on the 4t45 / 4t40 ;)

.... Aleromod Upgrades: Transmission -> Shift Kit (http://sites.google.com/site/aleromodupgrades/performance/transmission#TOC-Shift-Kit1)

There's a how to for the 4T40E trans, should be very similar for the 3400's 4T45E.

If you use both, the transmission WILL have a heart attack

lmao. yea i will just stick with the dhp man i want my 3400 to push 200hp i wish these were built faster. i got a 3 pc cold air ordering the dhp and pacesetter exhaust but i still think it will be under 200hp. its crazy how hard it is to add hp.

well under 200 wheel and still gonna be short of 200 crank. Toss some headers on, 20 whp gain.

i wish i dont see headers for the 3400 and i heard its almost impossible to do them for the 3400. whats funny is manufactures claim to gain hp like the exhaust claims10-15 intake 10-15 and dhp 10 which would be anywhere from 30-45hp but its so untrue from what everyone says in these forums its really only like 5hp each max. how can companys lie like that.

to my knowledge the only headers ur gonna find for the 3400 are the s and s or a custom job, both will run you about the same. their claims are sketchy to say the least. intakes can provide x horsepower under x conditions and so on and so forth. its all a business. remember that.

problem is, you could gain like 15 to 20 hp from a full exhaust midification (headers, cat and muffler) but if you do that + lets say the DHP and a cold air and those could add like :

Exhaust : 15-20
CAI : 3
dhp : 10-15

well you cant just add those and say you have 40 more hp. maybe more like 30 for all those and that is at the crank, not the wheels. Best start is to begin by letting the engine breathe more easily, then go into semi-easy stuff like lighters pulleys and bigger Throttle body, then go to stronger stuff like bigger injectors and fuel pump with tune, port and polish, or even forced induction.

You could also go the other way and instead of getting more hp, you lose some weight in the car: spare tire and jack, unused stuff in the trunk, back seats and whatever you can think of.

It doesn't take that much to bring it up to 200, at least at the crank.

Headers with full exhaust will add in the 25hp area and an intake will def bring you the extra 5 hp you'll need, but it will snowball from there, P&P manifolds and TB to bring in the more air that the intake takes and the exhasut lets out, and so on ;)

i read in a sticky that a ported tb is pointless unless u do a bunch more stuff sumthin about just adding a bigger tb doesnt work cause that extra air doesnt go anywhere if there arent other mods to help move it or sumthin along those lines. when u say at the crank that just means before it hits ur tires right? cuz im assuming byt the time it hits the tires u lose some with things like the weight of the car suspension and air against the car at high speeds? if that even makes sense :)

hi am sorry to ask this question but am to lazy to read all the comments. so ma questions are:
IS it easy to install the shift kit ?
with the shift kit install the car uses less or more gas?
and the last question is where can i get one?
