Anyone know of cleaner that works? I used Turtle Was carpet cleaner and it didn't do shit, I think it made it worse.

Here's what you do and is the only way to go. Rent a Rug Doctor with an attachment. Get a small bottle of there carpet cleaner, and go to town. Don't worry about anti foam that shit is bullshit. Luckily my sister owns one so I just borrow hers but they all work the exact same.

For regular stains, use an oxy type fabric cleaner... I get generic spray bottles of it from the dollar store and it will take out pretty much any organic stain.

But if you have something nasty like oil smudges or the markings from the soles of black boots or something like that in the carpet, you'll have to get some degreaser.

FYI, the anti foam stuff is intended only on carpeting that has had a foaming type shampoo used on it previously and would be a waste.

Well I pulled the carpet out of the car to clean it and this is all it did. The first three pics are before I cleaned and the others are after I cleaned.

I thought about the rug doctor but didn't want to put my seat back in the car to go get one. My sister in law has a Bissell cleaner I'm gonna use when my bro and her get back from PA. It should do a better job.

i have heard of that as well, but my only question is how do you get all the suds out of the carpet? i mean, dish soap is verrrrry, ummm, soapy for the lack of a better term, so isn't it a bitch to get out?

Thanks bdyman. Maybe I will try that next weekend. I soaked the stains with that Turtle Wax cleaner, let it set for about 10 minutes, scrubbed, and vacuumed the shit out of it with my shop vac but it seems like it just moved the shit around to a bigger area.

Well I cleaned my driver side floor mat today just to see how well the dawn dish soap would do. I'm happy with the results. The first two are when it was dirty and the 2nd two are clean. Cell phone pics so they ain't the best. Thanks again bdyman, great advice. Now I just have to do the other three floor mats and the whole damn carpet again.

I'm gonna have to give that a try. I have some stains on my carpet from a coke can that exploded and I didn't realize it for a few days.

^ i forgot i had a coke can in the sleeve? behind each front seat, and they heated up and exploded. luckily, its the bottom of the seats in a coupe, to which no-one is ever back there. So its relatively hidden... but i really gotta clean it sometime.

Nice to know regular dish soap works, that'll sure save some time! But i wonder if I was to use a bottle of windex, just upside down. think that'd clean better? :p

Here is one of the back mats and really one of the reasons why I wanted to clean the carpet. My youngest left a half a bottle of root beer in the rear cup holder and when I went around a corner it hit the floor.

How well will this work on the Delta's seats.

That cloth velour stuff with 23 years of dirt ground in :(

Carpets are cleaner than the seats

thats a nice trick with the dish soap. Does it have to be dawn or any brand works the same? I'll have to try that as my carpet still has some calcium stuck in it from last winter that I cant get rid of.

I used whatever we had in the kitchen, it wasn't Dawn so I would say any kind would work.

Heh, we use sunlight at home, but I think I'm gonna buy some anyways since it only barely wash the dish
