I was wondering what everyone is paying for gas prices. Here is WA...I am in Spokane it is right at 4 dollars a gallon. In Seattle, it is 4.26 just for unleaded.

I drove to Seattle which is 280 miles and I averaged about 29 miles a gallon...that was with some city drivng and going over 75...so not to bad I suppose.

REMEMBER ALWAYS FILL YOUR GAS UP AT NIGHT!! if you fill it in the daytime when its really hot you are paying for gas that actually evaporates and never reaches the tank SO PLEASE REMEMBER TO FILL UP AT NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no it doesn't the little bit of gas that would sit in your filler neck you would burn up driving home from the gas station. unless you live like 20 feet away.

actually i think what he means is that the gas is measure by volume not weight, and thusly during the day the heat increases the volume of the gasoline, which means ur not getting all ur mileage. probably negligable, but yea.

The opposite effect happens in the cold. As far as I am aware the gas pumps are regulated based on the effect temperature takes on volume.

I'm not sure that it would be enough to justify building your schedule around...

....I have also heard that the price of gas decreases in after hours. I have only been lucky enough to witness this once.

In Canada the pumps are regulated for the cold temps, they have been that way for years, so you pay for the amount of gas you get. In the states the pumps aren't regulated for the cold or the heat.

most of the money we pay goes to taxes and other shit, which has risen due to a greedy prime minister. ugh

I just got this from gasbuddy

Market prices for gasoline have been up and down quite a lot in very short spans of time. Yesterday, gas dropped almost a dime by lunch, but was up over 6¢/gal by the close. The distributors must be going crazy. For example, the US Gulf Coast spot price over the past week has ranged from $3.23/gal to $3.58/gal! Imagine if you had to choose when to send the tanker trucks to the tank farm or pipeline to fill up when your profit margin may be only 10¢/gal.

So, at the pump, the target site average pump price for regular gasoline is $4.09-14. Look for more stations to move over the $4 mark through the weekend. $3.80s are going to be tougher to find. Because of the wild swings in the spot price, you may see some odd pricing behavior with more stations priced much higher than others in close proximity. Not sure how long that will last.

Probably negligable since the temperature in the undergound holding tank probably doesn't change much during the day, if at all.

NJ and I think OR, it's illegal to have a self serve gas station.

People need to be trained to use the gas pumps. :rolleyes2:

I paid 4.11 a gallon for 93 in Englishtown on Sunday, which is the price of reg around here  The Delta's only been getting gas there :p

As much as the price of gas sucks, the Alero can still be filled for under $50 with 91. I usually put in 11 to 12 gallons. Highest so far has been $50.50

NJ is full serve because of the insurance companies here. The state has some of the highest insurance costs in the country. In order to keep the insurance rates "low" for the service stations, the state set it that only "trained professionals" (read: minimum wage station attendants employed by the gas stations) are allowed to operate the pumps.

Yes, this is true. I did not make any of this up.

Well the funniest thing was when Corzine (NJ governor for those that don't know) suggested to allow self service stations in NJ.

All the rich people bitched up a storm, writing letters and protesting the governor's mansion in Princeton. Not too many of the people that pump the gas bitched too much, but remember the mansion is in Princeton, a pretty rich and snobby town.

You should have heard my in-laws cry about it, esp my sister-in-law. Back when gas was $2.75 a gallon, she paid almost $4 for a full serve station in Newtown. (Only 1 full serve station and also one of the most expensive in Bucks county) They live in Somerset county, the richest county in NJ :rolleyes2:

Funny side note to all this, one time I was gasing up (this was when gas the the correct price) this lady got out of her car and was staring at the pump while holding the nozzle. I was on the other side of the same island. She was standing there for about 5 mintues and then she asked me "How do you work this thing?" I leaned over and looked at her license plate, just to break her balls a bit, and I said "Well I can't make fun of you for not knowing how to work the pump" We both laughed and I helped her. She wa a nice lady, older woman too, so it's not like I helped her becasue she was hot.

The other time I was in full Pepsi uniform (mech type jacket and matching dark blue pants) and it was wintertime so it was dark at 5pm. This MB full of snobs pulled up to the pump and watched me fill up the Alero. I ingored them and kept pumping. When I was done, I put the pump back and they got the money ready. I jumped in my car and took off LOL

correct the last usual time for prices to go up is if a hurricane hits and when it gets closer to labor day before school starts back up

expect gas to go up again, oil just went up $4 a barrel overnight. Airline manufacturers are already cutting in flight movies and snacks and drinks off flights just to save whatever they can.

btw i just filled up yesterday at $4.55 a fuckin gallon. Makes me happy my truck gets good gas mileage and the fact that i hardly drive anywhere now. Im almost ready to go out and get a scooter just to ease the pain of filling up now. Its pathetic what gas has turned to just so these pil tycoons can sit back and collect the paycheck.

When will it ever end, or at what point are people gonna say enough and gas run people into the ground
