What does that cost, and I want one?

Alerosaint
05-28-2008, 08:03 AM
yeah it was a real pain...my buddy was the one to figure it out...I was about to man handle it out of spot...but they were dry when they came out

@lonnie Here is the link to the thread with the link to where it came from

Now thats awesome...I had to wait about 3 days...hey ion do the two post at the bottom of the intake manifold come out...its blocking the charger intake manifold for being secured???

Damn I wish I can do that to my Ecotec :(, no damn reflash....Enjoy the boost life:dance1:

they stay in or the kit supplies new studs or bolts that go in that place. you're supposed to install the bottom studs/bolts first but not all the way, with enough room to rest the supercharger on it while you get the other upper bolts in

Its soo funny being on here now..

How much psi you intend to run? Does it make you feel bad that I can always run at LEAST double that? =)

ok just yanking your chain. I think i have those same rims - talk about a beeeotch to clean!!!!!!

Alerosaint
05-28-2008, 09:41 AM
^^lol..why you got to rub it in...but na..ill be happy with 5 psi, i just wanted my car have more go juice..not crazy go juice..also l love the sound of a SC...if do decide to push it though then I will still try to keep boost under 10 psi..plus I dont have the time and funds to go custom turbo
@ION Aha...so the bottoms studs do come out:cool: ...yeah the sent 7 shorter bolts. Man those upper bolts suck hard...there is no room to do shit :hissyfit:

[ion] C2

it actually feels great that i can beat you using only 7 PSI on a 2.4L yet you need nearly 15 on that 2.0 to even try and keep up :coolio: i haven't been to the track since the recent enhancements but i did stay directly next to a new Mustang GT which runs 13.6.

i'm not sure if the bottom studs come out, make sure you read everything to the letter. i don't remember if i took mine out and put other ones in or not lol. i just took a look at someone's install pictures and it doesn't look like they took them out

Alerosaint
05-28-2008, 10:00 AM
I hope they come out cause they are pushing against the manifold blocking it from sitting flush...the book just says put the bolts in and the pics show the bolts install where originally there were studs and nuts so i really do hope they come out....or I really hope im retarded and because i was tired last nite i just seated it wrong

a bone stock 4.6 GT is a little lucky to run 13.6; needs a good driver. My bf's has 4.10 gears and the cobalt is still faster. Its faster than the new GTO's with the LS1's.

I was picked on for buying this 'cavalier' relentlessly, until it ate up one of our customer's GTOs in 0-80mph. Let me tell ya.. .he was pissed! He hasnt brought the GTO in since.

Its suprised me, frankly. More than i ever expected from it. I just wanted a little, reliable car.

My dad and bf have driven it when its gone its fastest - im not that great at driving it yet. I didnt race the GTO, for sure!
But its going to a car show at a track next month, with another new GTO, so I will have times then =)

I do miss my alero a little bit, but am glad not to have a 2.4 anymore!

Keep us updated dude! that S/C looks badass! :-)

Lets just add pawz to the people who got rid of the alero and still post on here..... i would like to see ion race the cobalt SS and beat it :-) I hate those cars

^Hah, I love Cobalts, almost bought one before I decided supercharging this was a better idea.

Your boyfriend must not be able to drive if it feels like your Cobalt is driving like it's in the low 13s stock. The LS1 GTO's only run 13.9-14.3 stock if it's a good day, which is what yours should run as well, 14.0-14.5 normally. Actually, go to the track and see what you run, I'm curious now. And it will settle any of this bench racing comparison.

I smoked a Cobalt SS/SC 50-100 (he probably couldn't drive though). I'll race you, once I get this thing rebuilt and on meth and drag radials. Too bad you're in NC. We can virtually race, both go to the local track and get a video one weekend.

Oh I remember now, they DO come out. It was a majorwarning to everyone who installed the kit to remember to swap the bottom studs for the bolts that come with the kit because it won't sit right until you do, and remember to screw them in only so far so you have someplace to set the flange on as you get it in place. Lots of people were having issues with that. I read through the instructions very thoroughly so I made sure not to miss any details like that.

gears dont instantly turn mustangs into much faster cars without many mods. when i raced my friend's 01 gt it run 14.4 all day at atco. his best was 13.9 at cecil dragway.

no offense pawz but if "you AREN'T that great at driving it yet" how can you
supposeably be beating gto's and such? it just doesn't make sense at all im sorry. anyways 14.3-14.8 is where you should be running and that is pushing it if you shift or launch it right

Found it online. FYI many of the instruction booklets were missing pages. Like page 7 I think is missing from mine, I had to find it online. You missing any?

First instruction on page 13 says to replace the lower bolts:

Also, you better be coming to ASS '08.

Oldsman
05-29-2008, 12:06 AM
No Sweat's had all the pages.

Also remeber there is at least one bolt that has to be put into the manifold before you install it on the car otherwise you can't get it into the hole.

the fuel injector clips are easy.

Alerosaint
05-29-2008, 02:06 AM
ok...im finally done with the install...once again i came from work and directly to the ride...i suck as a car mechanic..but its done, I will hobble over to gm later on in the morning to get the flash...I double checked and re-doubled check my installation...so I hope she stays runnin..lol..

@oldsman; I got all the bolts in but I couldnt get the #6 bolt torque..its impossible to get...unless I use telekenesis

@ion; Where and when is ASS....right now its tough for me to get a break from work...I also might be moving to Cali...=S

[ion] C2
05-29-2008, 06:23 AM
ASS is in Lansing, June 13th, not sure how far away you are heh.

Get it towed to the dealer, or put the old MAP sensor in and drive very very slowly and don't boost (if you do this remember to install the 2 bar MAP once they're done, do not let them drive it until you do that.

Also fill the tank with 93, hopefully you used up most of your regular gas before you started the install lol.

Alerosaint
05-29-2008, 07:00 AM
I sure did ....hauled butt to and from work to get my gas low and then I halfed it with 93 just before i started the install..shouldnt i be able to drive real slow with the 2 bar map....also I have a surgory schedule for june 10...so while you guys are living it up i will be crippled ...=( but drugged up =D...I stay in
GA

[ion] C2
05-29-2008, 07:29 AM
Yeah try driving with the 2 bar MAP in. It runs like absolute shit, it will die no matter what you do. The computer's not calibrated to read the new MAP sensor, so it doesn't know how much fuel to add or anything. I had fun trying to get the front of the car onto the towing trailer we had hooked up from U-haul. It stalls extremely quick.

Alerosaint
05-29-2008, 08:24 AM
Yeah you were abosolutely right... on the 2 bar it drove like straight doo doo...so I put on the original one and started up with no prob and crept on down the road...man that was a long ass ride and I slowed down traffic :thumb:.. that was my dick move for the week...lol..I should have been shaking my fist out the window and tell folks that was my personal protest for high gas prices..lol

[ion] C2
05-29-2008, 08:29 AM
so you dropped it off and it's gettin reflashed? did you install the 2 bar before you left so it runs correctly when it's done

Alerosaint
05-29-2008, 08:41 AM
Yep....should be ready around lunch or so..he had like 5 other vehicles to flash and the 2 bar is installed so when its done im gonna get some seafoam and clean out my intake system...i had alot of carbon in there..and im gonna get an oil change....do you still have that pic of your cold air set up...if you do can you post/send it to me so I can use it as a guide to do mines...you posted before but it disappeared, but I want to switch from WA

man...i made my own whine with my mouth on the way to the dealership...lol..just kidding but I have been playing that sound in my head...im pretty ready to hear it to see how the car has changed...I know it aint gonna be no monster but im ready for my car to move with authority like how I drive and sing while doing it..lol...

Works fine here at work. Most pictures are blocked though, imageshack and flickr and such. I gotta take off the black tube and sand it down and polish it so it's silver like the other one before ASS. I can't wait. I'm going to come flying into the parking lot like a dumbass so I can whine in.

There's a supercharged G35 here at my work (420+ HP), I heard this high pitched screaming of a blower one morning just as I got to my cubicle and I look up and see this white blur go whining by down the long road that leads to the building. Lol. Sounds great, love supercharger whine.

I have the Glowshift Tinted Boost & Air/Fuel Ratio Combo gauge. Digital boost numbers display while the air fuel ratio lights are around the edges. However, I'm looking at getting some new gauges. One AEM wideband, and another probably an AEM boost gauge that reads decimals as well. (Like 7.4 PSI rather than just 7 that my current one says, I don't know what pressure I'm at other than the main number, when I boost 7 PSI it could be 7.9, don't know) But Glowshift is the best for the dollar, all others are ridiculously expensive.

Alerosaint

[ion] C2
05-29-2008, 02:51 PM
just a magnaflow muffler

should get a pacesetter header, full 2.5" exhaust with a high flow cat, two LOOONG resonators and the quietest muffler possible so all you hear is the whine, that's what i'm doing since no exhaust on a four cylinder sounds good, besides that 560WHP grand am. all others get raspy and sound ricey.

Little Question to AleroSaint: Did you take your supercharge from the link I provided and if yes, did they ask you for a picture of the front and back of your credit card, I'm not too confident about giving the image of my credit card on the internet...

[ion] C2
05-29-2008, 08:21 PM
Interesting.. they aren't supposed to do that... because throughout the transaction they never actually see your card information, it's handled via your credit card company (as far as I understand it). Which means this is a ploy to get your information to use for themselves, or just an overkill measure to prove you actually have the card (which still doesn't prove that you actually own the card, if someone stole someone's card they'd be able to take a picture of it...) If they get paid the money, they shouldn't care whether or not someone's using someone else's card or not.

Vinalero
05-29-2008, 08:48 PM
Thats what I was thinking. They also want a picture of the back of the card and they specified that it has to be signed, which is even more odd... They say its the procedure for international shipping, but still it wouldnt be the first thing I buy online and they never asked for something like this.

[ion] C2
05-29-2008, 09:04 PM
Pace is supposed to be legit. I'd call them and argue with them about this. You should not be required to provide your credit card PICTURES over an UNSECURED portal. How easy it would be for anyone to grab those images and use them to their gain.

Man...my whip feel like it have some life in it now....its more responsive...I get more power over a broader power curve, in spots where i never had power before..when I ask her to go she goes and screams for daddy while she does it...lol...the rsm throttle body makes a whistling/sucking sound like it trying to take all the air in the vacinity while at low rpms and when she gets wind up the s/c goes from whispering to screaming....im loving it....I was hauling as s all over the place....I even forgot about gas prices for once in a long time....my roomate have a 2001 spyder GT convertible and when he rode with me he had a smile on his face was like oh yeah....i think im gonna need some tips to squeeze more juice out of the mp45 ION...cause it feels good.
