Any tips for getting the a-pillar trim off without breaking the tabs on the back side?

pull back the weatherstripping, if ya have a trim tool or a clip tool get the first clip started then work your way down

And if I don't have the tool.... I'm screwed I'm guessing? lol

Carefully with a long flat screwdriver.
I just pulled mine off. I did break the center tab and cracked the pillar in the middle

Just pull it carefully. When you have the third clip being the only one left, be super gentle as to not break the tabs at the very base if the pillar...they just slide down into the dash. ;)

carefully? really?
i just tore mine off and threw it somewhere. just got my fingertips under the top edge (near the windshield) and pulled back. hmm... i guess that method isn't recommended.
