Injector O-Rings

OK, so I've got a 3400 V6. I pulled the injectors yesterday so that I could clean up the LIM and put new o-rings on before I reassemble everything. My question is this. I got the Fel-Pro complete head set and listed on the box it says Qty 12 - Injector O-rings and then a few lines later says Qty 6 - Injector O-rings. Obviously the injectors have an o-ring at the top where it seats in the rail, and at the bottom where it seats in the LIM. What are the other 6 o-rings for?

open the box and see if there's only 12, there should only be 12 as far as i know, don't go just by what it says

There's 12 in one bag, and 6 in second bag (along with 1 additional that is slightly different size, I think for where the fuel line meets the fuel rail).

Odd, not sure then. I believe there were only 2 o-rings for my injectors.

There were only 2 on each injector when I removed them. And Alldata only references 2. Just thought maybe I was missing something. Don't want to get it all back together and realize I left something out.

that confuses me as well. You are right about the odd shaped one but the other six seem redundant. When I did my injectors the kit only came with 12.

maybe the kit has some stuff in it for another motor...another 60* v6? i know they put different style egr gaskets in the victor set.

It might depend on if you have Multec (1999) injectors or Multec 2 (2000+) injectors.
