Ok.. well how much would a decent turbo setup cost not including labor? I'm not talking a FMIC prob just a smic... prob just like a t3/t4 or somthing like that.

you can do the whole thing for under $2k with a starter setup like this and buy the rest of the accessories:

Dohc's manifold is for a 2.4L.

Instead of trying to buy everything at once, buy parts a little at a time. It's much easier on the budget.

exactly, and also factor in for a new engine for when you just can't keep your hands off the boost controller - Even if it is located under the hood.

What is the max PSI the 3400 can handle... and could I run like 7 psi without upgrading my fuel system?

I have a turbo... a G16 from a 4g63 and I have the waste gate and a small smic but none of the pipeing.

well I read a thread on Gagt a guy said you can run 7 psi with only a fuel pressure regulator but sometimes it would run rich or... the opposite of rich... lmao

So far that I'm aware of, I've been the highest (intentionally). Others have spiked up to 18psi by accident and only for a few seconds, and some with not so fortunate results.

I was fully tuned and running at 15psi for awhile (several months) before blowing mine due to altitude change (sudden lean condition). If I had adjusted my fueling enough to compensate, it would still be running right now.

You can run 7psi without major upgrades. like mentioned above, get an adjustable FPR and you'll be fine as long as you are tuned properly.

Your transmission will likely give before your engine does once tuned.

You're going to have to upgrade some part of the fuel system. The stock system isn't designed to read any type of boost or provide fuel for it, so you'll need to have some way to increase fuel in boost, even if it's very basic. Other than that, you can run 7psi all day easy.

That 16G turbo you have is way too small for a 3.4L V6 as it's designed to be used on the 2.0L 4 cylinder 4G63 engine. If you do decide to put that on the car, it'll basically spool instantly off idle and fall flat on it's face in the mid-top end. You'd be better off with something like a T3/T4 50 trim with a .82 a/r turbine.

The opposite of rich is lean :p

Thats the word!

Heres the turbo...

um....that's more like a turbette rather than a turbo.

that would work great on a 4-banger, but in all seriousness, you'll be overspooling that thing before you reach half-throttle. I could possibly see using that as one of two in a twin-turbo setup.

lmao thats what I was thinking.... haha... its really small.. it pushed 12 psi in my friends 4g63
