91 vs 93???????????

why does 91 cost more than 93 octane? is it better than 93? whats the difference?

yea i thought it was a mis pricing then i thought maybe theres something special in 91 i always thought 93 would be more expensive idk?

Does the 91 use ethanol or no ethanol? Corn is expensive to process.

idk but ive been doing searches i always used 93 to stop knock and pinging and also because its cleaner but from what posts ive read its wasting money and i should use 89 my car would perform better on 89 from what ive read?

yep, our cars are setup to run on regular 89 (its what the pcm is programmed for) because our cars are not considered "high performance". Anyhow, from what I've heard, high-octane causes the car to run hotter and could burn a valve. Regular is the way to go for fuel economy and saving $$

mmmm....not quite the higher the octane the harder it is to burn. Hence why high compression and boosted motor requires it. It helps to prevent knocking (predetenation). Normal gas ignite at about 280 F the higher the octane the higher the temperature needed to ignite the fuel.

i must run 93 or higher in the rex... I wish i could find somehwere that 93 was cheaper... and from my experience... fuel with ethanol in it is usually about a dime cheaper per gallon than straight gas.

ive always found my car to run far better on 93 and also have been fuel economy with it, though it is expensive, ill get it on the odd time like car shows and stuff
