So i have a random misfire in cylinder number 4. this is only at idle. when i rev it up even a little bit it goes away. i had it hooked up to a scanner. i checked resistance in my plug wire and thats fine. so im concluded with that its either the coil pack or injector..... :( any ideas??? thanks

4 cylinder or 6 cylinder?

i'd have to agree with a fuel injector or coil pack but it could be because your engine is worn badly or a bad gasket...

What does the plug look like? I just had this happen with my Aurora. It said misfire on 0306, ended up severely fouled plug. How many miles on plugs and coil pack?

I'm with Oldsnut, I would check the plugs first

$6 a plug over $100 + for a new coil pack or injector and it not fix the problem

Just an eaxample of an exteremely fouled plug. One day it's going good, next 2 weeks it's bad, good for a month the your car runs like it has 1/2 water in the fuel mix. Install new plug and Poof, problem gone and no more codes.

I have found fouled plugs to be more un-predictable than my ex-wife, I know Ken knows what I'm saying there.

Funny, my ex-wife is very predictable. She gets her money, she's happy, she doesn't, she's a biotch!! VERY predictable.

HA HA HA yes I do, Andy

She sucked towards the end of our marriage, well not me

But anyway, yes fouled plugs can be a bitch. Try that first.

Do you have a 2.2, 2.4 or 3.4?

plugs was one of the first things i checked. i listened to the injector through a screwdriver... yes thats what i really did and it sounded like dookie.
