I'm looking at adding a turbo to the 3400. Anybody recommend a certain model (Garrett T3?) / shop in the Chicago area to work with. I don't have time to try and do it myself, plus it's a daily driver, so I can't have a lot of down time.

It all depends on how much power you want. There's a bunch of different T3/T4 hybrid turbos. You'll want something like a 57 trim with a large A/R turbine, otherwise it'll choke up the exhaust and fall on it's face in on the top end. You may even want a T4 turbine side instead of a T3, 3.4L of displacement makes a lot of exhaust to flow through a small T3 housing. If you want to spend the money, a ball bearing GT35 would be the way to go, fast spool and big power potential.
How much power you looking to push?
