ok. my wife's gagt has had the LIMG leak for quite some time. we thought we got it fixed about 9 months ago but obviously not. today she was driving to work and the low coolant light came on. car started to get hot so she pulled over and let it cool for a while before adding some coolant. then tonight when she was leaving work the car started shaking before she got out of the parking lot so she left it parked and waited for me. when i checked the resevoir it was basically empty so i topped it off with coolant. then i hooked up my powrtuner to check the SES light that was induced from the car shaking and it was P0300, random misfire. i cleared it and we did a test drive around the parking lot. seemed fine except the engine was warm but cold air was coming out of the vents when the heat was on. she decided to drive it home and didnt get but 3 miles before it started getting hot again, 3/4 mark on the engine temp gauge. so i left work and drove her home. preliminary analysis has me thinking she needs a new thermostat. not sure what caused the misfire so i will have to check the plugs. any ideas?

i was unable to change out the thermostat in the parking lot yesterday so last night i attempted to drive it home and pit stop along the way when it got hot. after the first pit stop i said fuck it and called a tow truck to tow it to the stealership. stopped by there this morning and the first thing the guy mentioned was LIMG. great, i didnt really want to $1k on this POS. they are gonna call later on today after they look at it. i will be so happy to be rid of this car. my wife is already looking at "new" cars and is leaning towards a 2003 jaguar x-type.....

Just fix the gasket yourself.
Think GAGT is bad? Wait till that Jag breaks down... lmao then you will know what an asz rape feels like.

yup really sounds like the LIMG, it would account for everything that its doing.

And sooner or later, something on that Jag will break. That'll cost you much more than fixing the limg.

no, the jag will have a 50k mile warranty with a $100 deductable.
the stealership just called and they said the head gasket(s) are blown because they tested for exhaust gas in the coolant. $2,323 is the total rapage. instead of telling him to fuck himself i told him i would talk it over with my wife. guess i will be picking the car up in the morning and doing it myself this weekend. sounds fun. there is apretty good write up on grandamgt.com, so we shall see.

it not really that bad to do if you have a slight idea on what to do. just pay attention to torque specs. Some of them could be listed in inch pounds instead of foot pounds. I didn't notice untill after I broke a rocker bolt and had to buy a new rocker and an easy out set :(

how much do they cost?

yea ur misfire is from you getting coolant into the chambers trying to compress it.
Good luck w/ the fix!
