Ok guys I am going to ask a couple of questions so bear with me:)

I know you have to unhook the battery and all that jazz when installing the PCM but there is a ton of wires and clips down there holding that stock PCM in place. Do I need to remember which clips go into what connectors? Plus, the DHP PCM looks different than the stock Alero PCM unless I can't see it all?

So, do I just yank the old one out with the negative battery unhooked, and snap the new one in...then try starting her up? There is just so many wires and they seem really tight down there?

Thanks a ton guys...I am a little nervous I am going to fork things up!

it is really easy. There are two plugs that are bolted to the pcm. Unbolt and pull them off, pull the pcm out, repeat in reverse order.

theres a couple of extra steps you have to take rather than just plug and play. do a quick search for the proper method as its different between some model aleros. i cant remember where the one thread is, but it was really descriptive as to what should be done for a proper install. good luck

The two plugs that you mention...are you talking about the two screws or bolts that hold that white plastic piece there....I think I now what you are talking about:)

Thanks for your help guys...I am going to give it a go...hopefully everything turns out ok.

The directions say to take it to the dealer...EVEN if the engine does not throw a SES light....it's for the CAS learn I believe:)

yeah take it to the dealer to get the case relearn, cost me less than 60 bucks.
and you might have to do the security relearn just to get it to start. mine took almost 2 hours of that security crap till it finally started.

After undoing the 7mm boltsI just pushed them out of the way in a way that I didn't get them mixed up.

There was also a huge lever, I pushed it over and the PCM slid right out ;)
