I have the Bosch Platinum 2 plugs in my 2.4 and it runs well with them.

Might not help your problem, though.

I went cheap but reliable with AC Delco platinums thay are what Olds suggests for over 100000

Oldsman has the Bosch Platuuim 2's just like Charley, and he swears by them
