Seasonal spring and strut change over?

hey all

This year in my area we got pounded with snow. I was planning on lowering the car in the spring, but almost every week I have been driving up to the bumper in snow, and if I was any lower quaranteed would have done some damage.

Now what I was wondering, is if anyone is changing their springs/struts when the do their tire change-over in the fall and spring? (lowering in the spring, and going back to stock in the fall)
Is this a reasonable thing to do? and is it guaranteed that I will need to do an alignment every time I change over the springs and struts?

ohh, and getting a winter beater is not an option, the wife already axed that idea

I've been thinking of the same thing with mine, I have issues with my street as it is after a good snow fall, I can only imagine with the st springs I have. Im just not too sure how hard it would be to do this every spring/fall

Just go with air ride. It would save you the work in the long run.

yup, air is awesome. raise it up for speedbumps/steep driveways/potholes, lower it to the ground when parked and slightly above it for normal road cruisin :coolio:

I've had my car lowered for a few winters now, never had any problems. When the snow gets deep it plows a little, but nothing gets damaged or hurt. We get a lot of snow, but we also have very quick snow removal so the roads aren't all that bad.

I'd love to get air ride, but there's no way I could afford it anytime soon

The snow removal is pretty terrible here. my street is actually the last on to get plowed. They only do it when they start their second rounds of the day.

I'm not concerned about doing the work, I can spend an afternoon 2 days out of the year, changing wheels, and springs. Just as long as there's enough beer around :drunk:

hate to tell u but with bags all the way up its about the height of it lowered on springs!!!!! what richie says and i trust him on that shit. but do a coil over set up maybe 50 bucks slammed in summer stock in winter. i had a thread about it soundextream gave a how too and pics when he had his fender was level wih tire.

i am lowered and we have pretty bad snow removal here and i dont have issues because of the lowering. If it gets stuck lowered it will get stuck stock.
