Here's this problem. Doesn't happen too often.

About a year ago I put new plugs in the car, but the only plugs I could get were Motorcraft plugs. I was stuck since I had the number 3 plug blow out of the head which damaged the plug.

Now when I'm accel from a light or stop sign, with the same pressure on the gas pedal the car will buck a little bit and then take off. I will watch the tach go up and down very slighty then the car will rev off from say 2300 RPMs to 3500 RPM and shift gears and drive normally.

Is this the plugs?

Could be a vacuum leak. I would check the gap on the plugs though just for safe messure.

do u mean lurch forward from a stop?

it very well could be plugs. have you checked them to see if they are worn?

i'm just throwing this out there but could it be a trans problem? or possibly a faulty coil pack?

Could be your wires. My parents had a PT Cruiser that did the same thing and they got the wires replaced and it was all better + it was a recall so it was free.

This is happening to me, kind of, when I am parked, I feel the car jerk like 1ce every 30-40 seconds, I see the RPM's go up slightly during the bucks, then falls back to where it was.
