I know, this might b a real stupid question but i just wanna know why cant u hear the noise that the filter makes (wai or cai doesnt matter) when the car isnt moving. i mean if u try to revv it at parking, u won't notice any sound difference but once u DRIVE and the rpm gets high u can hear it. what does it has to do with?

I hope this doesnt sound too stupid :icon_rolleyes:

i think it has to do with there being a load on the motor.

ya like my s/c doesn't really whine unless i'm driving

i thought he meant "filter noise" as in, being able to hear air being sucked through a filter, lol

If you Rev it only, you wont hear the rumble of a cone. But if you punch him gas real fast when you are in park, you will hear it a bit.

Nah, its not even close to how it sounds like when youre driving. u can only hear the sound of the tb opening when revving.. and what do u mean "it has to do with there being a load on the motor"?

the motor has to work harder when the car is driving because there is weight to pull and an actual load on the trans and through that the crank. In park or neutral there is no load on the trans so the rpms can jump up quickly without having to pull a lot of air through the filter. It takes more air to make the power to pull 4,000 rpm while driving than it does while you are in neutral.
