Welcome
I'm interested in that intercooler and under hood pics would be good as well.
Here it is at present time. the wrapped section is all one welded piece, 2 1/2 in. outside diameter, and going into the IM is 2 1/2 in. inside diameter.

Is that intercooler readily available or is a custom job ??
I have a M62 as well and this is something I would be interested in picking up.
Thanks.

Sorry about the ugly pics, it's that darn digital camera--too much resolution:lol:
You can get the cores, assemblys, etc. here:

I will be discussing design considerations as time allows, but keep in mind that the setup is constantly changing, and those parts are being re-used and abused!

The filter is a K&N #1796, 6 X 9.5 in.
The headlight mount is separated into two pieces for easier access, and a sheet of rubber sits above the filter as a rain shield. The tubing is 3 in., but needs to be upgraded to 3 1/2 in.

Yeah, it's one of the Gen-4 kits, with the key components being the internal bypass valve and rising rate FPR. When I called Magnuson tech about a month ago, the guy said you can still special order the supercharger/driveshaft combo, minus the inlet and outlet ducts, for "around $2000.00" for an M90, maybe less for the M62. But you better be sure of the drive length you specify. :)

The system uses a 3 gallon reservoir tank (actually a fuel cell). For racing, icewater is used in the tank, heavy on the ice.

"Hand made" sounds good. :) The truth is, I messed up the project every way you can think of, but still managed to come up with a good functional part. I used styrofoam to form the inside shape of the tube, then laid the carbon fiber around it, and extracted the styrofoam after it cured ("sacrificial mold"). The original idea was to use all Kevlar fiber, but I forgot to buy the special shears needed to cut it. Then I ran out of carbon fiber and still had to use the one Kevlar strip. Worst of all, I didn't use mold release compound, so a lot of sanding had to be done on the inside. A similar piece needs to be constructed to connect down through into the filter area.
