looks like the project for this weekend. im trying not to have it go much further. heat stopped working and temperature tried to climb like the head gasket was about to go. ill most likely take some pictures because im pretty sure i let this problem go the longest. it has been over a year and a half.

motors = electrical power
engine = fuel combustion

smartass indeed.
So in the song "Born to be wild" when he sings "get your motor runnin...head out on the highway" he was talking about driving an eletric car? :lol:

motor
• noun 1. A machine that supplies motive power for a vehicle or other device.
engine
• noun 1. A machine with moving parts that converts power into motion.
I guess they both apply....

we don't know
generally it is accepted, and the original definition as per physics differentiates between motor and engine as i explained above

Well if the heat stopped working its probably because the thermostat is stuck closed.
That happened in my Alero and my 3100 Buick. Both were LIMG, I just didnt know better with the Buick.
The Alero I figured something was up when I kept loosing coolant. Which eventually went to just water... Then I had a few boil overs, stuck thermostat. LIMG was noticeable... So i just fixed it. Didnt replace any hoses...
Everything is good about 15K later

1.5 hours for a job an experienced mech takes 6 hours to do
Yeah right :rolleyes2:

i believe it if you have done a few before. It is really not that hard. Shops charge for 6 hours, i bet they work on it slow and steady for maybe 2.5. Redog you just put too much faith in mechs. They are not gods you know, and most of this stuff really is not that difficult to do. It's like sex, put this shaft in this hole, turn clockwise. lol.

Im not a mechanic nor an idiot, but 1.5 hours is about impossible... lol Maybe for the UIMG :lol:
Im sure I could do it in 4 hours alone.

I did the mani gasket on the Delta in 1 hour but then again the only things to take off is the fuel line, vacuum lines, and the air cleaner, but an LIMG in 1.5 hours, doesn't seems possible

maybe not 1.5 but 2.5 with help is doable. Hell when i did my heads with Jeremy from DPP him a friend and i did the heads in six hours. Including port time on the uim and lim. After seeing that happen so fast i can believe that with skill and skilled help it may be somewhat possible. I do agree that it would be excessively difficult though.

ROFL, imagine the guy doing the swap, then after there is still a leak only to realize he changed the wrong gasket? That would be Priceless! :lol:

seriously :rolleyes2: took everything out of way too :) it was pretty much same as getting one of my superchargers off in like 15 min :) same 10mm bolts pretty much ALMOST the same way to take it off. its really not hard when you already have the tools out for it.

Also looking at the pics the only ones that show maybe the limg off are 2 and 3 but they are pretty blurry so I can't really tell.

Well I might just have to do that. In my little town if you need dexcool or equivilant then you have to go to the local shop and it's like 30 bux for 4 liters, double the price of normal stuff.
