so I was doing front brakes and was gonna use the gm kluber lubricant and my boots were all expanded and not even tight around the caliper. on one side the boot completely ripped off is this safe?

If your talking the boots around the calipers puck its use able. Thats just a dirt shield. Its not a brake fluid seal.

Only other thing I can thnk of is the boots over the bolts that allow the caliper to float/center itself. These need to move freely. So if its them, replace them so stuff doesnt get up in there.

nah its the boot that goes around the piston. its weird cuz theres a tsb for the creaking noise that people get and they sell a gm part called kluber lube that they say to apply where the piston and boot meet. on one side i tore the boot off completely seems to be working fine tho

It will work fine for a while like that. But it will let dirt in without that boot to block it from getting to the seal. It will eventually develop a leak.
