Its tough to say which is best. If you havent done anything yet CAI and exhaust will be your best options. After that i would say best bang for the buck is a pcm. Then ported manifolds and heads. it all depends on how far you want to take it.

had my motor built and tuned it. last part of my build is a 62mm TB which is sitting in my garage waiting for a rainy day. ;)

to just get started, a CAI is your best bet...it rains alot in PA, but not nearly enough to soak the filter, so you'll be just fine.

Magniflow and something done to the air box (Not CAI) I don't know I didn't do it. But my best mod is my 129 Tail of the Dragon sticker ;) Adds 11.5 hp

Whats better for gas mileage CAI or WAI?
And what kind of improvement can be expected with the 3400?
If its cheap enough and worth it I will pull my air hog (KN clone) and get one!

gas mileage changes ever so slightly, CAI better for sound/performance

its suppose to trick you iat sensor into thinking there is colder air coming in than there really is so in turn you end up more fuel and a bad air fuel ratio and some wasted fuel.

Throttle body, the part that mounts on your intake manifold, opens and closes when you press the gas pedal to allow more or less air in. Bigger throttle body, more air flow.

im def going cai intake but what one 2 pc or 3 pc ? how far will the filter come down with the 3 pc kit (pics)?
Ryan from Ohio
10-04-2007, 10:12 AM
The 2 PC kit is the SAME as the 3 PC kit minus 1 tube that looks to be about 2-3" long and a coupler... And the 3 PC kit is double the price...
Im going to probably buy the 2 PC kit and just pick up the extra coupler/tube at a local place...lol
