u can lighten the car load (ie spare tire and jack and all other possible unnecessary items)
set cruise control
keep up on maintaining it

I do better than a lot of the new 4 bangers on the highway but I also have a lot of mods

Fresh oil, new plugs/wire. Fram air hog filter cleaned out every 3 months, KEPP THE TIRES INFLATED. Thats huge...
My car is funky and it goes in spurts.
Before plugs/wires I was getting about 270-280 a tank, tank meaning clicks off at the station to light comes on. My driving habits were 100 miles 5 days a week to work.
After changing plugs, wires and adding the air filter I went as high as 330 miles.
Now I dont drive as much, as far and near as fast... Im down to 270 miles.

i can make near 30 mpg on the freeway, like redog thats a byproduct of the mods. Like others said, filter, plugs, wires, tires, new fuel filter would help, run some injector cleaner or seafoam through it as well.

im able to get nearly 415 miles per fill if i dont step on it or do alot of city driving. all ive done is put a cold air intake and changed the exhaust. i also agree on making the car lighter. the less stuff in your trunk will definitely help alot. also right tire pressure on all four seems to help. oh, and add additives every now and then to keep your injectors clean.

yeh subs in my trunk saps my mileage noticably. Especially with the long haul to the cancer center every day.

weird, i also notice that when i am crankin my amps
(and i mean boom boom boom down the road)
my mileage goes to hell.
is there a reason for that?
would a capacitor help?

You do know that is A. Annoying as hell for the people around the area you drive by and B. Is extremely bad for your ears.. you can go deaf in no time doing that. ok now that I'm off my little soap opera. Just do what the others told ya.

415 miles per tank?
Tell me what mods you got. Might be worth it to me with current gas prices!
Especially just the cold air intake.

Yeah I could get around 600-650kms with my 3400 on the highway with mine, going 120km/hr, with one other person, and a sub/amp in the trunk. Only mods I had in mine were K&N air filter, NGK Iridium Plugs (original wires), and I usually put a bit of fuel injector cleaner in it.

ok, i need some insight on this,
i just drove from chicago,il to st. germain,wi with 1000
lbs of tools/frozen food/stuff. (about 315 miles)
why did my gas mileage NOT go down?
i got the EXACT same mileage that i would normally.
