A blower motor resistor.....my blower only works on the two highest settings (I think...I can't feel any air outta the vents on the lower settings). Just wondering cause if it is then I'll go get a new one...if it's not then I gotta start looking deeper.

FUnny thing about this. The ex had the same problem, the blower only worked on high. I told her it was the resistor. She took it into the shop, they replaced her ignition switch, and now it works. Go figure????

It didnt occur to you they were ripping her off ?
Ignition switch my ass.. those are much more expensive as opposed to a 20 dollar resistor pack..
Most mechanics are all the same.. they see a women, and tell them a line of BS and make more money off them..
You sir have been had..

On my wifes old car we tried to get the pads replaced and they said that the brake drum cylinders in the rear were bad which took a 80 dollar job up to 1100 to replace the cylinders, rotors on all four wheels and the do the brake job. I don't trust any mechanics at all. Thats why I watch the work being done. I just bought her a new taurus, and when we got it inspected the damn mechanic there tried to fail it because he broke the dame brake drum trying to get it off, and the bad things was that it was only broke on the out side rim so it didn't qualify it to be failed. I went there on my lunch brake raised alittle hell and got two brand new rotors and the inspection for free. Crooked ass mechanics. Can't trust any of them.

Man, All you guys talk crap about your mechanics....
I guess it's where i live. they're pretty honest around here... If there are crooks everyone knows it and they go out of business. I usually stay and watch the work anyways, if not, I'm poking around underneath while she's up on the ramp. I gotta say though, the mechanics around are pretty honest, I guess it all has to do with the area you're living in.

True here too in Hamilton, I've used many mechanics, most were ok, one bad one in Stoney Creek (Utter criminals)
But the best one by far is my buddy John, Runcos Auto on John st.
He's as honest as they get, to fault actually.. Good guy, he wont steer you wrong.
Us Canadians kick dis-honest mechanics's ass down the street I guess.. lmao

No, she wasn't "had"!! She had trouble with the ignition switch to start. Once it was changed, the blower worked properly, I can't explain it, but it happened. They DID change the ignition switch. Maybe one of life's little mysteries.
