Okay I just got word from the guy at the machine shop where I took my block to swap in some wiesco pistons and eagle rods that the High Output Intake manifold is NO GOOD!!! When I received it in the mail I did question the modification done to the ports on the runners in cause that they did not match up to the head. I did not feel that it was such a problem that could not be fixed. I stoped by the machine shop to show the guy the manifold and the head and he claimed it wont seal. So now Im uncertain in what I should do. I wrote to those bastards @ mantapart still waiting on a response. Ive been thinking how I should fix it. One way I thought was to go to the junkyard and buy any Quad 4 intake manifold and weld off the flange from it and weld it on to my HIGH OUTPUT manifold then do the correct modifications that mantapart lacked. Or should I buy that phelonic spacer and work from there. Also I want to make a mold of the plastic intake manifold but I was told it would cost 300 bucks(if this is the best way so be it) This has really got me bumbed out because I DONT WANNA USE THE FACTORY TWIN CAM PLASTIC INTAKE MANIFOLD!! So please help guyz thankz

It will seal with a gasket in between, you just won't be able to use the stock gasket since it kind of clips into the stock manifold. The ports won't match up 100% perfect either. The ideal thing to do would be to have an adapter flange made with the 2.4 ports on one side and HO manifold ports on the other. You could also have flange cut out of aluminum to match the 2.4 head and then cut off the HO flange and weld the new one onto the manifold. Since those may not be reasonable options, you may just have to run the manifold without perfectly matched ports. Just about everyone else does.
I have the phenolic spacer that the one guy on J-body.org had made and they weren't made right and the ports on mine still don't perfectly match. The engine still runs fine though.

well mantapart wrote back and said that I need to modify my head to match the ports on the manifold.

just go at it with a dremel and hope for the best :pimp:

sadly enough, i did exactly that. i dremeled the lobes that are in front of the injectors. i just put an angle on them. (....could possibly be a reason for blown engine.....just a thought....metal shavings...) lol

if you use the 2.3 manifold gasket and cut the ports to match the intake you will be fine.

you modified the port with head on the motor???????? if you did your dumbass moved deserved a blown motor. anyone who has built motors and knows what they are doing do not do that stupid crap.

lol, yeah it was on its way out anyways. that's why i picked up a new engine when i got the blower. i also have the secret cams to install, 58mm throttle body, custom hptuned computer with lots of goodies (thanks to shifted on j-body.org), lightweight stock sized crank, 370cc injectors, and an lsd insert for the auto trans. should be fun.
i loved it with the HO manifold, i can only imagine the fun with the new supercharged setup.
