Possible missing remote

So it seems like this 99 Alero would have a factory remote, but when i bought the car they didn't have one. Where would the module be located if there was one? Or what would be the easiest way to find out if there was one?

do u have power locks

if u do more then likly u have keyless entry if u dont im sry ur a moron but if u do call ur fealership and u can get the serial number of the one u need do not buy it from them but ask if they have any laying around if not buy some on ebay look up alero remote and check the number of the one for sale with the number the dealership gave u when u get them in go into a delership and it will cost around 40 bucks 2 get program unless someone on here knows how 2

you could do what i did: call the dealership with the VIN and they will look it up for you. mine has power locks but no keyless entry. i thought i would have it since i had power everything but its not equipped with it.

my grandpas is the same way, power locks and no keyless entry, his is a 99 GL

may want to ask teh dealership if it originally came with it and how much it costs, they should be able to tell ya pretty quick

mine is a 99 as well. no entry but power everything. sucks. i had my alarm hooked up to control the door locks so i got it now.

To find out if you have keyless entry or not, look at your Service Parts Identification label on the underside of your spare tire cover. Look for the RPO Code of "AU0". The codes are listed in alphabetical order first, then numerical order after that.

I think all Alero before a certain year had power lock, I have it in my GX, but not the keyless.
