I want to pull my carpet out the car to give it a really good cleaning. What all has to come out to pull it out? Front seats and center console for sure. What about the back seats?
Thanks,
Timothy

seats, center console, the trim on the doors, seat belts probably, and maybe your dash but someone is going to have to correct me on that. back seats might, i cant remember though, i have to look again

Why would you have to pull it out of the car to clean it?

I would just pull the seats out to get under there properly. Ya know, all that fast food and junk that everyone eats in the car, and for all you Cananadiens that spilled beer. Otherwise leave it alone, you'll just create more problems for yourself.

Oldsnut gots it. Lots of fast food in the car. But I do throw everything onto the back floor and things leak. :) I would just much rather pull it all out and give it a really good cleaning.

that's dumb,if your going to go through all the trouble of pulling your carpet out to clean it, why don't you just replace it?i would like to take mine out and replace it with black, but.to lazy, seems like a lot of work.

It not very hard to take out. The carpet doesn't even go up under the back seat.

The carpeting DOES get cleaner if you can take it out. The aftermarket carpeting isn't nearly as good as the original either. A friend of mine likes to use the Bleech White cleaner for the tires on it, but I've never done it myself.

Ok well I did quite a bit of searching and I could not find anyone that sell black carpet for an alero. I was thinking about getting the darkest I can find and have it profesionaly dyed black. But that will be awhile, was just hoping I could just buy it.

hey, whats the best thing to use to clean automotive carpeting? i have alot of coffee stains in my car...
I use a warm solution of OxiClean and spot clean with Folex. I have also gotten great results with using a 6:1 dilution of water and Woolite for both spot cleaning and general upholstery cleaning.
These are a few pics of some (probably) coffee that was spilled before I got my car in January, that the dealership "should" have cleaned up before I picked up the car, but I won't go there.
This was done with just Folex. I didn't have time to go over it again with any Oxi mix, but you can see a big difference just with the Folex.

my car looked all clean from the outside, but then we took all the carpetting out and holy crap it was nasty... i blame the previous owner since they had it for 85,700 miles before i got the car :P... i didn't want to know what some of the stuff under there was..

my car is in worse shape than that....the trunk smelled like old blood, and there are brown stains on the carpet in the back that resemble old blood....I spent 6 hours getting that smell out the trunk, but I cant get the stains out the carpet in the back seat area.....

You know, I pulled out the trim off my center console and that was absolutely NASTY. If I pull the carpet out, I imagine it's going to be just as bad.
blood that's nasty.when i bought my car it was so nice and clean,i thought it must have been owned by an old lady that just used it to go get grocery's.then i found a condom rapper and a parking stub from the other side of canada.well lets just say i broke out the upholstery cleaner and went at it all day.dealer ships should clean out cars way better before they sell them.

can anybody say "half a big-mac under the driver seat" ? i can. i found it about a day after buying my car when i decided to find whatever smelled bad.
with the big-mac, i found lip gloss that had been poured all over after the bottle got lodged in the seat tracks and smashed open. that first cleaning is mega fun (sarcasticly)
