I thought Id like a convertible alero, but meh, that doesnt look that great. I definitely like the look of a hardtop more.

don't really like the looks of the back half, too long. But I still want 1 to have something unique, bet it looks like sh*t with the top up.

I'm not a fan of convertibles to begin with. This one does remind me of the sebring a little bit though.

That may be because it wasn't made to be convertible when they designed it ;).
Looks pretty sweet tho! Thanx alot.

There is no top. Since they never made it, the concept car just had the boot.
Think of the Alero line up by now it GM didn't axe Olds

^^^ it would of been oversaturation w/that many models. Plus why would they do all that to a N body that platform was outdated, Alero convertible would of had some serious body flex unless they added alot of weight worth of bracing to the undercarriage.

^^ That's the reason they are going to / already have crushed it.
Remember that the Alero was the rename of the Cutlass. How many different Cultass models were there at one time? In fact in the mid 80's there was a FWD and RWD Cutlass models being made at the same time, a "G" body and a "J" body

.....
The Oldsmobile Alero was introduced in spring 1998 as a 1999 model to replace the Achieva and Cutlass.

Yeah... I see no possibility of GM ever resurrecting Oldsmobile. They were good cars but they just didn't bring enough of a change to GMs lineup.
I really think they should have made the final 500 convertibles. Or atleast do something to make them more unique other than just color and badging.

IMO, the convertible one was really sweet, and I really dont like conv. beside a Must. GT with the bar on top of it.
I dont really think they would have made all those models if olds would have lived. Maybe only one of the performance ones (both OSV and 442) and maybe the conv.

The OSV's I could see... but not the 442. Especially when the corvette is a 427

If the OSV would have came out it would with no doubt boost sales and they would still be in the game, just like the Ugly ass Dodge and plym Neon but then came the sexy turbocharged SRT-4. Same concept just a revised approach. I still would love to see a 442 Alero, was it a V8?

I can be corrected by Oldsman if wrong, but based on what he said after talking to some folks at GM a while back, they were given the OK to build the OSV with the Convertible OSV to follow in Nov 2000 and then GM announced the shutdown of Olds in mid-December 2000. Talk about no communications inside of GM.
OSV convertible would have been awesome IMO.
