need tips for car show

Ok A local radio station is puting on a there 3rd annual rock n roll car show & I entered my car & this will be my first car show I've been in :yahoo: & I'm looking for some tips from some avid car show people.

a common thing to do is put cotton around the front wheels. makes it look like tire smoke i suppose. another popular thing to do is wash your car. then put a bottle of everything you used around the front of the car. go buy some big trophy's and put those around you car too. people are drawn to the previous winners. lol

A list on mods done to the car. You can always print them out and put them in a picture frame (a plain frame)

A stuffed animal of some kind, sitting under the hood. Helps attract the kids, then dad looks at the car.

Answer as many questions as you can, esp if it's a judged show ;)

agreed......... best thing you can do is make sure you car is 100% clean. honestly one of the best things you can spend money on for your car is to have it professionally detailed. any dealership offers detailing services. usually runs about $125-$150 but that includes having the engine cleaned and everything.

If you really want to be serious about winning, make some business cards. If your apart of a car club, list the car club on the cards, or even make up your own club name...judges will see the cards and think you are serious business with working on cars...you should print out sweetnlows avatar pic and use that for you clubs logo....j/k

Underglow and a fog machine under you car might be a good attention grabber. My friend did it at night and it was pretty neat!

To add to the theme, play some music that goes along with it (i.e. if you had an old rat rod and a beach theme play some Beach Boys).

well day 1 of preperation was the engine I went over every thing with a "fine tooth comb" It wasnt that bad concidering I usally clean it about every third wash. I did however polish the intake

another suggestion that i use when i go to car shows is i use a coil spring from like a cavy or somthin as a hood prop. its just tall enough to see the engine bay but low enough that you can still see the top of the hood when you stand in front of the car. and you could possibly put a small stuffed animal in the spring to be different. i would suggest to paint the spring the color of you car first tho.

my advice is simple...no stuffed animals, no themes. just keep your car clean, and let it speak for itself. the spring to prop the hood open is cool though.
