Can anyone tell me if the rear hubs are the same between a disc brake rear and a drum brake rear? My rear hubs have electrical connections in them for the ABS, but there are no wires, just a plug to keep the contacts clean I guess.

If they're the same I don't have to get some from a junkyard when I swap from drums to discs.

Thanks!

the ACDelco parts vehicle list shows the same hub for both of then as long as they're ABS. (part R20-03). You do need the whole knuckle for the caliper mounting however. It would be easier just to pull the whole assembly off the car in one piece so you're not taking it all apart at the yard.

Ok. I'm fairly certain I've got the ABS hubs. None of the pick n' pull yards around have Aleros. so I have to go to one of those "Automotive recyclers" where they charge you almost new price for stuff.

All i really want from the junkyard are the knuckles, park brake cables, and caliper brackets. Everything else I should probably buy new.

Even if you don't have ABS, the hubs should still work. It's just that all the rear disc cars have ABS.

Ok, cool.

How does the parking brake work on a disc brake setup? My car has drums, and I know I need the cables when I swap, but I really have no clue how the e-brake works on the discs. Something about a "drum in hat" comes to mind.

Thanks!

It's basically like a little drum with a one-piece shoe inside the middle of the rotor.

OK, thats kinda what I thought, by the name. I guess I should get just a whole setup from the junkyard and change whatever I don't feel comfortable using.
