Just got my oil changed at GM, and replaced my tie rod for my front right wheel, and noticed a weird noise. When accelerating this electric type motor noise increases with throttle, but when releasing accelerator, RPM's drop to nominal (~1000) but the noise persists. When braking the noise levels off until the car stops. What the heck would this noise be? I was thinking perhaps the blower motor, but the HVAC can be set to nil and it still occurs. Also, it could be the fans as a result of aging, I don't know. The car has around 74,000 KM on it, so I'm not sure whether it's due for some transmission fluid change, or perhaps a tune-up.

Any thoughts?

You sure it's coming from in the car? My hubs sounded like an airplane taking off when they went bad. That'll increase with speed, and obviously stop when you stop.

Is the radio on? If your plug wores have gone to S#$% it is not uncommon to get feedback through the stereo

Our cars are not meant for tuneups before the first 100 thousand miles. So I am pretty sure that's not the problem. Neither do I think it's your spark plugs. Check your transmission, and any loose wiring.
