That is the oddest weld job I have seen considering the make shift y-ing just before the muffler.
Also. Do you have a welcome mat in your parking space?

it is a weird weld job. I bet that sounds nice, i love the tips. AGT i assume he was laying on the mat to take the undercar shots.

I keep a floor mat in my trunk so the girls don't get dirty knees, but using it to take under car pics makes sense too

Nice tips! You should post a sound clip also.
Did you simply cut the bumper on the right side?

AGT i know you were kidding. Still curious on that weird y pipe.

yea mat was used for taking the pics. for the bumper cutout, i took the whole thing off and used a handsaw and taped it off. when the dude was welding the hole in the original pipe, he messed it up by 1/2 inch so he had to stretch the pipe to do the dual setup. i might have to take it to the shop again and put a true y pipe on their sometime cuz they didnt have any y pipes they said

sometime in the future i might get the magnaflow cat but anywayz yea sweet it sounds great now compared to the single setup, had to take your advice the other day and go dual...huge difference in acceleration and sound

looks good, i say sound clip. how much did it cost to go back and do dual?

i wouldnt even bother with the magnaflow cat........ your not gonna notice much of a difference anyways. the stock cat flows very well....... the restriction is in the resonator.
but im glad you went with the duals...... i think your the first person besides me to run dual 40's....... and the sound is amazing imo. better sound than any other exhaust than ive heard on the 3400.

I was almost thinking of a tip like that on the Alero before i got the C6 ones. Something just felt wrong about putting a Chevelle tip on an Oldsmobile. I didn't think a 442 tip would've looked right on it though.

WOW have you seen a resonator. Obviously not and no our cat does not flow well take it off and see for yourself. I am catless and love it I cut the resonator off and stuck it back on because its basically a straight pipe with a baffle around the inside. So no the restriction is NOT in the resonator.
"An exhaust resonator is used in some exhaust stystems to CHANGE THE TONE and timber of the exhaust sound. The resonator helps reduce the annoying vibrations of exhaust gas pulses with a length of perforated tubing inside an expansion chamber. The exhaust gasses partially escape the tubing diameter through the perforations into the expansion chamber. In the expansion chamber, the exhaust gasses expand and change tone. When the gasses re-enter the tubing, they rejoin the exhaust flow and dampen the vibrations of the combined flow, creating a more pleasing sound." who are you to act like you know it all.. your the one that cut your cat out lmao. thats ridiculous.....
anyways i like the look of your exhaust but dual 40's would be waaaayyy overkill on my 2.4L i think. i havent decided on my exhaust at all... i want dual tips to go with my razzi but i want a mild effect. i have no clue =(((

if your state didnt have emmision checks you would have yours cut too im sure. besides sweetnlow always has a negative comment about everything

I wouldn't. I like being able to start my car in the garage and not have it reek. And just because your state doesn't have emission testing doesn't mean it's LEGAL to remove the converter.

It was in a magazine a few months back. A test on a car that had an intake and cat-back exhaust already on it. If I remember correctly, first run they made with the stock cat, second run they made 5-8 more hp with a high flow cat, third run they made 1 more hp than the high flow with no cat. So you have to decide whether you want 1 more hp out of your setup or be street legal. There's no question in my book, I'll take the high flow cat any day.

or where im at, i can remove the cat and get 6-9 HP more and still be legal :p

absolutely spilner. And sats, you could do that, or do high flow and not have your car reek and know that your arent contributing to destroying the environment. And the resonator is a restriction, yes it is straight through but its that expansion chamber to change the exhaust not that significantly reduces exhaust velocities. I dont have any quotes to back that up but i thought it was just commonly understood, the same way that an overly huge exhaust causes issues.

Wow, you live in like one of 3 provinces with no legislation for emissions... That's some crazy stuff!

ok enough said, if your going to go with a different setup on ur cat, go high flow, why bother being illegal for one horse. besides it is kind of an a-hole thing to do the the environment when it can be fixed so easily with virtually NO CHANGE in performance.
