Quick Question

I was driving down the road today and everytime i pushed on the gas pedal my mileage gauge would blink in and out. Like the more i pushed on the gas the less the numbers showed up. Anyone got an idea on what it could be.

probably linked to the alternator..... sounds like it needs to be rewound to me.
