Alright, it started yesterday, after im driving my car for about 10-15 min my lights on the dash come on, the Anti-Lock light, Service Engine soon, and the Trac Off. this has probably been discussed before, but idk what to put in for search, so any help is greatly appreciated. Is this something i can fix myself? cause im FINALLY bringing my car in today to get my LIM leak fixed. so if it isnt a problem i can fix i can tell my mechanic about it and see what he can do.

thanks.

If you are going to get your LIM fixed, just see if he will take a look at it for ya and just see what the problem is... I'm not sure what it is... I never had that problem *knock on wood*...

Its a VSS code, you need a new hub assembly.

how much will that run me? and if i keep driving with the lights on will it do anything to the car?

no. is the bearing loud? You have some time. If you do it yourself, the part is around 100-150. If not, expect double for a shop to do it.

can i get this part online?? if i can, can u put a link up to where i can find it. Nothing seems to be wrong with my car, other than the LIM, i dont feel anything, or hear anything. I can probably do this myself (with the help of my step dad), but is it hard to do yourself?

Hub assembly are not too hard. Its behind the brake rotor.

Recommended tools: Impact Wrench and Air Hammer.

this is Billy we are talking about, the kid that painted his maroon car's engine bay with blue paint, do you really want him playing with air tools?

get the part at any parts store. If you are lacking on mechanical knowledge, or get stressed out changing the oil or fuel filter, you may want to have someone else do it.

Are all the dash lights blue?

Sorry kid, but I doubt you're going to live this one down, at least you don't get bent outta shape like some people ;)

I replaced one hub a long time ago, but it was under warranty. I might have one going now, but IDK yet

haha, yea i know nobody will ever let me live that one down.

Anyways, like i said...my stepdad would help me:rolleyes2: i think i might just call the mechanic, tell him about it, see how much it would be. if its too much, me and my step dad will do it.

at least you said you would attempt to do it. That's more than a lot of people. Some people think you need a professional for everything. I told my landlord/mother-in-law I would hook up the new stove in the house and she almost flipped because it's gas and she thinks I'll blow the place up. I mean seriously, it's only one gas line and a plug, but hey, she's the landlord so if she wants to pay, that's her dime. Don't be affraid to try but don't be affraid to admit when you're over your head either.

Billy, if you've ever pulled off a rotor you should try googling " alero hub assembly" and click the ebay link and check out the picture. If you're still lost you're going to need help installing it.

I would think after 3 years the bulbs would have burned out. Might want to check behind the piece of tape...

GM parts direct has a hub kit for $171 if that's what he needs.... You can go to their site and look around for what you need if that's not correct.

since my hub assembly is crap now, could that be a possible cause of my bad gas mileage???? I know our cars suck in cold weather, but idk, just asking.
