View Full Version : Brake pedal makes squeaky noise

I had my brakes looked at and the mechanic said they were fine, but now my brake pedal makes this squeaky noise whenever I press on it. It's not really a high pitch squeak like when your brakes are going bad. Kind of like a door squeaking squeak. :) It does it all the time, whenever I press down on the pedal, even just a little bit. Could it just be dirty, need grease?? It's very annoying. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

My expert opinion would be to just put a little grease on the pedal.

With the car running, (because it makes it a lot easiler to push in the brake pedal) get down on the floor, pushing with your hand on the pedal, then look and listen to where the squeak is coming from, then slap some grease on it!

Possibly a caliper? There is a service bulletin out on how to fix a squeaky caliper...

bushings are bad they can be lubed but its costly to replace them, i bet when u get out and shake the car it makes the same noise. I have the same prob, its like a creaking noise everytime u push down the pedal a little bit its so annoying i gotta get them fixed

mine does the same thing... but i cant get them to do it when i shake the car?...

idk, mine does it when u get out and push on the car and rock it not as much but a little bit

I have the same thing and had it many times, your brakes habe been over heated. They are fine you wouldn't see anything, but it are the brakes them selves.

You can change the pads ore turn a little bit off the rotators.

Not sure if I have the same problem, but my brakes tend to squeak when I press on the pedal.... only at slower speeds though.... they are fairly new pads and rotors....

My brakes only squeek if the car has been sitting in the moisture (morning dew or rain). I think it's the pads though, goes away after a block or 2.

my brakes grind and it attracts alot of attention. i'm not driving my car so i will fix them before i put on my body kit.
