Please Help

Hey. I'm pretty new but I need some help. I have an 01 2.4L with 70000mi on it. I recently changed my spark plugs to the Bosch Platinum 4 plugs and after I got it all back together i turned it over and it wouldn't rev over 4200RPM when its in park or neutral. I drove it and it seems like it's running fine, and it will still redline at 6500 when I punch it. I have no idea why it's doing this, or what I can do to fix it. Any help would be awesome.

umm im thinking it never did...

ITs called a rev limiter

it has a limiter at those RPMs in park and neutral.. lol

But I have had it up to 6500 in neutral before.. Me and my buddy would always rev it in neutral before races..

Thanks for your help. It just seemed odd to me and I wanted to make sure I didn't screw something up.

i have the same car and i have never been able to rev that high in park or neutral. if you did you might have been rolling forwards and that might let it rev higher i don't know. i would try but i have 2 and a half feet of snow on my driveway i'm not moving.

theres a rev limiter on our cars..i dont see how you got it to 6.5k RPMs in the first place..
