Since Grand Ams are sister cars, will Grand Am GT mirrors fit on an Alero. I remember seeing someone on here or Cardomain install Grand Am mirrors, and they look nice on Aleros.

ya, i got em on mine. bolt up and plug right in. theyre a bit backward as far as the controls. i dunno if manual mirrors would be the same, but id guess so

yeah they fit..
And the weird controls, is that our power mirror little motor pad has two axis's
Grand ams use the opposite axis as us..
move the grand am axis to the opposite sides. (There is two arrows, one of them is up, put the other arrow up) which is 90 degrees off of the other one.. mirror removed of course
Or flip the wires in the power mirror harness.... lol..
Whatever is easier for ya

Also, how did you guys go about take the mirror off. Looks like a real F'ing pain.

pull the tweeter pod out, and theres three nuts behind that. unplug it(if power) and take the nuts off

nope you just pull off the tweeters speaker things. Unsnap the harness. Then untwist the bolts (and make sure to hold the mirror) the mirror should pop right off. And then just put the new mirror on.

Thats good news....thanks everyone. Hey sound_extreme, are you goin to the meet in Aug in NJ that Naich is holding? I was tryin to meet up with someone and follow them because I am most likely going by myself. If you shoot across 80 through PA, I could meet someone on 80

Malibu's have a more boxy shape while our mirrors are more round.... wouldn't look all that great.

Looking at some pictures of the Grand Am mirrors, and they don't really flow that well with the car. Maybe the pictures were too small...pimptress ;).

The only thing that is too much with the green one is maybe the painted bezel in the same green. I wonder what it would have looked like with the bezels painted black since theres already some black on it.
I like those rims. If I remember correctly, this one was totalled?
kwhauck
01-12-2007, 10:06 AM
yeah several people suggested that and somebody photochopped it with black bezels but i still like the aquapoly better, i think most people like the black bezels but it's my car so as cartman would say "neh......screw you buddy"

I stand corrected again.... I think the mirrors might look ok on our cars (for the new Malibu)...

I have to agree on the Retro Rocket, that color just looks funky. If it was all black, it would look real sleek, especially with the black wheels.
Your current car's license plate says N2OOLDS, doesn't it? Where's the nitrous on that supercharged monster? :) The only thing I don't like about your silver one is the stick-on (looks like it) hood scoops.
On topic, the Grand Am mirrors look pretty good on an Alero, but the new Malibu ones may not look too bad.

Old plates from previous owner who owned had nitrous, none now i want to make major power without nitrous plus i've seen the damage it can do to pistons.........i want my new plates to say WAPAH
As far as the scoops they are gone now, but they were not stick on scoops, they were scoops off the anniversary edition gtp, were fully functional, and cost like $250 a piece from GM.........
here's a better pic of the scoops........$250 a piece rediculous huh?

but if you look at the malibu and the alero, the malibu mirror mount is different.... I don't think it will work.... Not sure about older malibus though...
