For those with a 2.4L, please post your exhaust setup.
pictures and sound clips also if u can :)
^^ Trying to get some ideas
my setup i have the pacesetter header 2.5" pipe down to stock cat but im replacing that with a high flow the rest of my exhaust is 2.5" piping to a ravin muffler dual outlet i cut out the silencer in the system

silencer? what is that? <-- maybe a resonator? anyways, how do u like ur pacesetter headers.. with ur whole setup do u notice a significant increase in power? and by dual outlet u mean 1 in 2 out of the muffler?
silencer resinator same thing different name. yeah i definatly noticed a change in the car the setup gave me hp but its little loud. its gets the cops attention when i drive by and yeah one in two out

yeah, its too loud because u cut out the resonator.. i might throw 1 or 2 resonators on.. or just buy 1 long one.

i think i will wait on the headers, but do the whole cat back.. because i want to turbo my car.. have to save up for that.. that will be my last upgrade.. probably 1 year down the road.
its loud because of the header the bigger piping no resinator and performance muffler. you car is going to be louder even with the catback system but not as loud has mine

yeah.. but resonators should quiet it down a bit.. thats all i really can do to tone it down and not buy such a loud muffler

how do i do duals like redogs or someone who has dual out the back
the resinator really doesnt do that much. your catback wont be loud but louder then stock. what i did was get one inlet dual out on seperate sides of the muffler. i dont know how those other guys did it but thats what i did

i have header, catco high flow cat, SLP pipes (2.5") magnaflow muffler.
i actually didn't like the sound the new cat and header gave the car. after the high flow cat is hot then the sound gets deeper but a little raspy til then. then after the header it got more raspy.
i think i got a sound clip around here.

what kind of headers do u have?

i have the tsudo stainless header. you can get it off of ebay. and, like i said before, the 2 fastest 2.4's on j-body.org are using this header. real gains are seen on the top end, as low end torque is lost with a larger exhaust system. but, you can feel it really pull at the mid range rpm's.
have you read the other thread that you did? or any of the other ones in the 2.4L forum? we just had a discussion about this man.

i had to relocate the o2 bung, and remove the egr tube, tho. had a local weld shop do it for me.

what kind of headers do u have?
trs
the pacesetter header is the same design as 2fst along with rksport. just depends on how much you want to spend a 4-1 will give you same power and sound no matter the brand name.

I don't think redog's dual outs are functional. I think his are the faux ones for the razzi kit?

so cavalier headers will fit on the alero is what im understanding? what other cars.. and how come 2fst's and oldman's headers look soo much bigger on top.

yes a cavalier header will work but the O2 bung must be relocated to the other side. do you know why they fit? they bot came with the 2.4 twin cam motor.
since this is sooooo confusing for you i would recommend you either do 1 of 2 things
1. leave stock manifold and just do from the cat back until you have more knowledge and understand.
2. just go with the pacesetter 2.4 header for the alero that way it will fit no problems.
the pacesetter, tsudo, OBX, rxsport and etc will ALL sound the same and give you the same performance. they are all 4-1 headers.
then get the magnaflow cat, magnaflow resonator, 2.25 pipes and whatever muffler. your setup does not require 2.5 pipe and you will loss too bottom end.

I have 3" piping from the turbo all the way back with a Magnaflow cat, 2 resonators, and Megan racing GT muffler out back. I'll get some pics when I jack up the car to change my oil in a few days.
