CAI - Did I Get Jipped?

I purchased a CAI off of eBay couple of weeks ago. I notice that the intakes most of you have use a pipe going directly to the TB with holes to plug in the different sensors. Mine on the other is a "remove the airbox from the accordian-looking hose and attach intake in it's place" setup. Will this be "as effective" as the pipe?

K. Wasn't sure since the airflow isn't straight-thru if it would defeat the purpose

the piece between the throttle body and MAF is more for looks than anything else.

it can be argued either way but its really a moot point.

I straight pipe between the MAF and TB works best, but you're only picking up about 1/2 hp from all the pipes being unbaffeled
