Well i wanted to start a new thread incase anybody in the future does a search for this.......

Anyways, about a week ago i emailed this place and asked if the pacesetter exhaust would fit the 3.4. This is what they said.......

Normally this is one option, but in some cases this doesn't hold true. I did some checking on your Alero and found a Walker exhaust look up page. If you look carefully, the Walker exhaust is the SAME for either engine. The parts that change are the cat piping and crossover on the engine. The exhaust itself appears to be exactly alike otherwise.
http://attach.re2.mail.yahoo.com/us.f517.mail.yahoo.com/ym/us/ShowLetter?box=Inbox&MsgId=1014_4133051_6566_1841_51358_0_73752_73893_3 826388571&bodyPart=2&YY=47255&y5beta=yes&y5beta=yes&order=down&sort=date&pos=0&view=a&head=b&Idx=6

This makes me believe you can use the Pacesetter exhaust on your 3.4 liter Alero. You already have our ordering link. If you need more details, please don't hesitate to respond. We await your order.

So to anyone who still doesnt think it will fit our cars, think again;)

I was already set up to buy this exhaust because alerored04 told me it would fit, but then i read this email and thought it would be good to share with everyone. To help out the other guys with 3400's who want a cheaper exhaust:coolio:

Thank you again alerored for letting me know about this exhaust.

Glad i could help ya billy. That is a really good price for a full exhaust, my custom setup ran me like $300 with a muffler and tip which this setup comes with, so this is a pretty sweet deal. Like i said before make sure to post a sound clip for us.

billytheman1188

a little update on whats going on......

Im installing the exhaust tomorrow morning. Oh and its a dual outlet exhaust incase people didnt know. It looks very nice. But the one thing im worried about is that since its not coated, or stainless steel like the borla, its probably gonna rust out in about 2 years.

jackal2000
11-11-2006, 05:20 PM
has your current exhaust rusted out?

i didnt think so.

Just put the exhaust in, it took a good 2 hours. We had to grind off the bolts holding on the old exhaust, then we had to cut it in half to get it out. But putting the new one on was much easier, it sounds pretty good in low RPMs, but its weird, when i hit the pedal it isnt that loud in the high RPMs. But it sounds pretty good, it looks awesome. I didnt have to make a cutout either. I will get pics on here in a little, i just need to take a shower and do some work around here quick. But i will get the pics and soundclip.

Im gonna have to wait till tomorrow to get pics and a soundclip up cause its raining pretty hard right now, and its starting to get dark already!!! god damn, haha.

Tomorrow will be the day;) You guys will just have to wait a little longer to seelol

alerored04

glad it worked out for you. Im glad to hear that it evens out on higher rpm, that means it will have less rasp and sound nice at highway speed. Most of the time only straight through or very aggressive mufflers are loud at high rpm. Cant wait to hear it. Glad we could save you some $$.

Those look sick man. I didn't know that they were dual exhaust though? On the picture on that one website for this exhaust system, it only looks like a single. But that does look darn nice man. :thumb: :pimp:

Thanks, yea i like it a lot. Its loud in lower RPMs, but when i step on it, it isnt that loud. When im on the highway its pretty loud too. My car now idles around 800 RPMs, it used to idle around 1,000-1,200 RPMs.

Im sorry i didnt get the sound clip up last night, im at school now, when i get home i will try and get it up. Its not the best quality, i apologize for that, but people, this exhaust sounds very nice and its only $268. www.carstuff.com (http://www.carstuff.com) is where i got mine and it only took 2 days to get to my house.

actually, he posted a sound clip of his car.. the recording has a bit of static along with it, but you get the general idea

This is what your 3400 V6 will sound like when converted from stock exaust to the Pacesetter system-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJtwc_b0Ego

I ordered this system from car-stuff.com, just like he did.. but its been over 2 weeks and nothing lol
