I have an 02 Alero GLS coupe and I read the "how to archive" an clearning corners. However after removing my light assembley there is basically no visible silicone to heat up. The plastic meets the gray assembely with no gap. I worked on it fot a few hours but had no luck...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....
I am thinking about going to a junkyard and picking up to extra light assemblies to work with!

Stick a flathead screwdriver in between the seam while it's heated up and pry a lot.

i tossed mine in the oven (low heat) for like 10 minutes, and it came apart pretty easy. but watch out... its ridiculously hot.
its just catching the tabs on the grey pry with a screw driver. Take a breath its not that hard.

If a flathead is to thick to really get in there try a pocket knife! I used a knife and flathead for this. And if there's not a lot of silicone on there you might want to buy a new thing of it and redo that just so you make sure no moisture gets in there. Good luck!

Im starting to rip mine apart on Monday so that i can paint the bezels in there black instead of them being chrome. They have been ripped apart once already so im assuming its goin to be a cake walk gettin apart the second time around.

There's so many headlight threads I don't want to start a new one, but I've got a somewhat related question.
Ok, I've had my headlights apart I think three times. The passenger side on seals fine every time so far, however, my driver's side light doesn't seal at all. I've tried heated both halves up and putting them togther, didn't work. I've tried scraping all the gunk out of it and sealing it with the same siliconized caulk that's working fine in my passenger side, didn't work. I really don't know what the heck to do short of drying it and smothering the joining line in the stuff.
Any help?

So you havent went to the store and gotten silicone??? when i did mine i tried to scrape out the remaining silicone but it didnt work too well, so i put silicone in the base of the headlight and put it back together, it worked fine.....no problems yet(knock on wood). But if your trying to heat it back up and seal it with the old silicone that wont work too well sometimes. People have said it doesnt seal as good, or it does but then a few months later they have moisture getting in. So basically just put new silicone in, make sure u put a good amount, and then your good. Hope i helped

I ran a pretty thick bead of caulk after scraping out the old silicone and it worked for one but not the other.

cleared my corners last night, took just under an hour for both. The bad part was after i heated up the second one, i was prying it apart with a pocket knife and it slipped and i stabbed myself in the arm... Ya i know im dumb, lets hope the 11 stitches will teach me a lesson!!!

Hair dryers work well too. Just gotta work it a bit. The bad thing is that grey shit will stink up the whole house when heated and it sticks to everything.

i didn't have a problem w/ mine at all. just heated and pried the tabs up. no stabbing, or of slicing myself. didn't even get a slight burn either.
