BlackJack - Poll - Appearance

Well, the turbo is almost ready, and now is time for a decision on what to do with looks. Basic idea is, I can't decide on if I want to bait people into meeting me at the track, or surprise them.

1) Keep going the direction I was going with full race look, finish the hoodscoop project I started integrated into one-piece F/G front end, side-exit triple pipes, etc.

2) Go total sleeper, back to complete stock look, rims and all.

3) Stay where it's at on appearance but finish painting the body kit to match (factory silver).

I'm not a huge fan on show-car looks, and have always leaned towards an all-business appearance. I feel indecisive and keep talking myself into each one on alternate weeks....heh. Help me out? I'll run this poll for a month, and see what the majority consensus is. Most of you have decent taste, or I wouldn't ask :D

How are turbos on the 4's? a waste of time or can you get them movin pretty quick?

well, here we are only a few days into the poll, and already have alot of votes. I appreciate the input so far, and by all means, please keep the votes coming :)

On another note, if I go back to full stock look (which I'm undecided on yet until the poll closes) I'm going to have to go through major surgery to sink that radiator into the steel bumper and lose alot of front end structural strength just to get the stock bumper cover on. When I do, airflow to the intercooler will be reduced significantly through that narrow air duct on the stock cover. Just a thought, and something to consider in weighing the options.

I think the sleeper look is only effective on cars that are usually heavily modified or look really good stock. If you're going to go through the effort to take an Alero to those power levels, you might as well let people know from a distance that you are serious. An 11-second minivan sleeper still looks like a shitty minivan. I say go all out! Bodykit, hoodscoops (hopefully funtional), full paint and sweet lightweight rims.

Shitty minivan or not, 11 seconds is insane for a box on wheels with a 2.4 litre inline 4..

and go for the race look, like they said.. If your gonna have a car that kicks ass, why not make it look kick ass? :coolio:

So if you keep the Kato front end that you have you won't have to do all that work? I'd say keep that then for sure, and then I'd personally leave it as is so people may still question how serious your car is, not quite as much as a completely stock-looking car, but more than if you went full out race car. My 2 cents.

well, now that the turbo install is done, I'm beginning to develop the power to back up the appearance. It's been long out of balance.

I get a good idea where the general consensus is going with this poll, and I'm glad you all voted so far. The stripes are still hanging in the balance, but either direction I go, I still need to develop a paint scheme that nobody on here has done before.

i forget what i voted, lol, but i'd say go with the kit. i can't see any pictures that you have posted, NIPR won't allow me to see them, but the bodykit is probably the best bet for intercooler and radiator room. as far as all out racing body work, i'd wait until i was fully tuned for that. just get it painted so it doesn't look like a hoopty. that's just me tho.
