Well im new to this forum but have been checking out ALOT of things on it and it gave me influence to actually mess around with my own 99 alero. Right now im spray painting the inside (yes i know its not the best way to go but im not raking in the cash either) im using red and black by Dupli-Color, unfortunately the red looks better sprayed on than when its dried but ille figure that out on my own, other than that I have put on a new carbon fiber shift knob (for looks obviously the carbon fiber wont make me go any faster) Ive also put in those multi-color lights that I noticed ALOT of people also have, and I have custom gauges from SpeedHut, im also getting in an Aluminum Wing (at first i hated them then as my buddy put one on his probe it started to appear more appealing...that and it was cheaper) My next Big plan for the alero besides fixing the brakes turning the rotors and putting on new tires, would be buying the Kombat Body Kit and putting it on. I honestly cant wait to get this body kit i have seen only a couple cars with this and unfortunately my car is going to look alot like 2fast4u's car, which dont get me wrong the car whoops some ass but i want something original but hey I dont plan on putting this in any show....yet. Well anywho I just felt like rambling about my car, letting every one know that Alero's can whoop some ass too, and was wandering if any one had any suggestions for the car, Interior and Exterior Appearance wise, Performance, me and a couple friends will be working on that, Putting in a Cold Air Intake, and wasting most of my money on a Supercharger for it. Well thanks for at least tollerating my rambling.:scpimp:

uhmmm, dont put an aluminum wing on your car. they look like crap on every single car they are on, and 100000000X more stupid on an alero...

I'm painting my interior too. lol It's not too bad, but it could be a lot cleaner... Eventually I'm going to replace the fabric with suede... Black and blue! I need to get some good pics of the progress though... The sun tends to wash everything out... :(

Christ. Ricex10. Go for the performance parts first, loose the wing. Maybe you should have bought a civic....

You need to do more research into the supercharger. The RSM supercharger is known to break down a lot and it is way over priced. Look at custom turbos, they are around 1500 - 2500.00 mark and will add just as much if not more power then the charger. You also have to remember you may need to change the tranny and some other things so do research or your going to be sorry later. As for the painting of your interior IMO your going to be sorry in a years time after the car has been through a summer. You will start to see chips in the paint and a whole lot more of a mess over time. I am bringing my parts down to a custom place to have everything redone the right way. As for the wing don't waste your money on it. Your getting an AAS kit go for the Razzi wing, about 250.00 shipped and looks bad ass with the AAS kit.
Just my 2 cents.

aluminum wings just aren't for our cars. you can pull off a lightly larger then stock wing, if the car is kitted, but it has to be fiberglass.

Performance: Custom turbo kit
But first.....do a lot of research. Then, do some more research. Then talk to some people with the same engine you have that have turbos and see what works and what doesn't. Then do some more research. Learn how everything works, and what parts are the best to get and why. Then start collecting parts. I suggest visiting http://www.jbody.org as there are tons of guys with 2.4 and 2.2 turbo engines that make some serious power.

Sounds like a good plan except for the wing. About the biggest wing I've seen on an Alero that looked good was jturkey's: http://www.aleroplanet.com/album/resizer.php?img=pics/379.jpg&w=2048&h=1536 (black car), and it's not an aluminum wing.
I'd vote for the Razzi or a stock wing if you really want one. Alero's look good without wings, too, if done right: http://www.aleroplanet.com/album/resizer.php?img=pics/43.jpg&w=1024&h=768

I painted mine red with krylon fusion paint and it went thru several Florida Summers, and it looked just about how it did when I first did it. No chips, cracks, flakes, nothing.

Ok I have alot to say about what your doing. First DO NOT put a wing on your car, please for the sake of god exspecially an aluminum one, you must be blind to think that your buddies ford probe looks alot better with a wing on it. Probes look like trash and they prob look even more trashy with a alum. wing. Second of all, I tell everyone this when they decide to paint their interior. First think hard if you really want to change your interior, then will you have the time to do it right including wetsanding between layers, making sure you paint nice light coats and finish with some clear. Second if you want to paint your interior so bad, why not save the money and get it professionally done or carbon fibered, make it look like wood molding etc. Ive seen a few interiors that I like and they are all glassed. I myself painted my interior, did a 1/2 ass job and hated it. I had to go through the process of buying all new interior peices because none of the junk yards around here have aleros. It cost me about 250 - 300 dollars to replace everything..thankgod I didnt do my complete dash then go into every minor detail. For example your hazard button trim is 9 dollars. So just a warning think twice. I suggest for newbies to the site to defenitly get a cold air intake, by far one of the best investments toward my car so far. Also you might think look at some of the cars with turbo on the site because...dont quote me on this but I have heard that turbo is a much better investment for our cars then a supercharger. Also experiment with other kits other then kato there is kato, razzi and forbidden kit. I myself mixed up forbidden and razzi because I feel that the kato kit looks very ricer even though I do like the kit on a few cars on the site.
Please dont put on that aluminum wing, we will all laugh at you.
