Good luck....read the forum, tuner guide, and do tons of other research before you change anything. Only change 1 thing at a time....I've been monkeying with my PowrTuner for about a year now.....it's incredible the amount of stuff you can change.

the only thing i would hate about those is you have to use premium fuel as long as you have that thing in your car.......uggg, i would hate that but i bet the extra HP you would get may be worth it :p

Not necessarily....
You can tune it exeactly how you want....if you don't want to be forced into premium fuel, then don't advance the timing - but you can still play with tranny settings, speed and rev limiters, fan turn on points, fuel trims, and all that jazz.
For instance, I have stock timing and fueling in my car....granted, I still need to use mid-grade gas, but that's mostly due to high-mileage (over 110K) and milled cylinder heads that nudged my compression ratio up a bit (about 10:1; stock is 9.5:1).

it depends on the stats of the laptop.....you wouldnt want to try and put windows xp on a 855mhz lap top...if you have a P4 then just put xp on it and it should be fine

I'm running XP (SP2) and my PowrTuner on a P2 400mhz. What's the issue?

Now for the rest, dont get confused between the DHP PCM and the DHP PowrTuner. One is a preprogrammed PCM, the other is a tuner to PROGRAM the PCM.

Have either one of you ran any scans yet? I am curious to see what they are looking like. I have been fighting KR on my car for some time now and I am curious to see where you are starting at. At WOT stock I was getting 10* of KR.

no, i think i am going to wait to scan til my heads and cam are installed. seems pointless to start now with those drastic changes coming. but who knows, i have a loooong weekend coming so maybe.




edit: i thought i had the right serial ports on my laptop but i dont. now i have to track down a keyspan USA-19HS. just tried walmart and they dont have it. i really dont know the area around me too well, only lived here about 2 months.....fawk.
