hey im just wondering if anyone has removed the ( oldsmobile symbol or letters ) on the back and found that there glued on or if theres a hole where theyre attached, and if there is any markings or residue left from them. and if anyone has any ideas on the best way to remove them without scratching the car

just double sided tape.. no holes. Just heat up the emblem with a hair dryer and remove.. or just pull it off.. Won't scratch a thing.

On top of the Hair Dryer, try using fishing line and run it behind the letters and move back and forth, cutting the double sided tape. Then just clean up the excess with Goo-Gone or similar product. There are definitely no holes to worry about.

I did the same thing and had no problems.

Yea I took mine off with a heat gun and some minty fresh floss. It tore a few times, but boy my car was feeling minty fresh without any emblems. lol. Anyway, it is real easy to do. No holes at all. I used some goo-gone to get rid of the big pieces of tape left over and then rubbing compound to get it looking nice and clean.

It sounds as if we floss our cars more than we do our own teeth

I knew there was a better use for that stuff :jk:. So can you do that w/the side strips that are on the car also b/c some of you guys on here removed the 1 side strip on both sides of the car (the strip above the dip on the doors). Is that the same thing?

Don't do it. There's still gonna be an indent where it was and it'll look retarded.

i took the front one off, painted, and then glued it back on. Looks nice. And yes the door stops on the sides are the same procedure, just glued on better and take way longer.
