I already know some of the basic pros and cons of the two

CAI-

Pros: obtains cooler air- should gain more power

Cons: long piping results in less throttle response, depending on location of filter, can risk hydrolock (sucking up water into your engine and destroying it which really sucks and worries me)

WAI-

Pros: improved throttle response, gains in hp when engine is cold. No risk of hydrolock

Cons: I hear the engine bay heats up alot when at rest which gives it alot less power.

I might be wrong, im dont really know all that much about moding it up, just wanted yalls input and such. What you think would be better as far as power or Fuel Economy.

BTW i have a 99 Alero GLS 85,000 miles black total stock. Wanting to upgrade and think this is where i should start :hide:

if it's just daily driving.. I would just recommend a K&N drop in. I had an OBX wai in my achivea.. and while it made a lot of noise compared to a drop in, I really can't tell a difference between gas mileage/power between the two.. Either way is better than disposable filters
