:glare: Okay you got me. I only found the first one, "Zebra / Tiger" pattern Alero. I have no clue what the second one is and I'll be damned if I will pay Carfax just to find out.

Seen the 'vert, never would have gotten it from the VIN, what the hell is the "zebra"? I've never heard of that one..

Besides the convertible, there was the
442 alero
California edition alero
OSV alero
the 1997 alero alpha concept if you want to count that
maybe others that I'm forgetting???--apparently this zebra one... :glare:

Its the SC3 Alero. it's the best one made and not because I own its older brother either. Barret Jackson (the people who took this photo) didnt call it by the right name..

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/images/carjpg/2004pbcca/2/43/2004PBCCA2_43_34.jpg

Here's a bad picture of it... it needs to be from the side so you can see the tiger stripes and the Oldsmobile logo on the fender. ITS PIIIIIIYYYYYYYYIMP!!!

Dont forget about this POS the 1999 OLDSMOBILE ALERO FX RAZZI FROM GM COLLECTION http://www.barrett-jackson.com/images/carjpg/2004pbcca/2/706/2004PBCCA2_706_34.jpg
I know this may offend a lot of people on here but our "friends" at Razzi did nothing for the Alero's appearance. Ransom made it a $hit ton better. Since that car sold for a whopping $9k... with less than 5,000 miles on it fellow bidders, while only a few at this auction agreed with me.

Obviously the polls are more complicated than I thought... Figure it out for me and translate guys!!

You wouldn't have gotten the convertible from the VIN for starters because the 6th digit is a 1, which is for a 2d coupe. It should be a 3 for a convertible.

the alero 442

the idea of the 475hp 4.6 with 5-speed, true dual exhaust, 10g tach, and it sounded just awesome.

the convert wasn't actually a convert but a hardtop just chopped so if you were to actually look at the vin it does not state it's a convert.

He said he NEVER would have gotten it from the VIN :) or were you just elaborating on WHY he never would have gotten it...

The SC3 "Zebra" Alero had custom interior as in all the pieces were molded in blue plastic and painted with Tiger stripes blue leather seats with stripes, custom billet pedals with Olds logos cut out of them including dead pedal , leather floor mats with oldsmobile logos and tiger stripes sewn into them, , custom exhaust with custom tips, custom paint, and custom wheels with Michellin Pilot 18 inch ZR tires on them.

something like this but in a 2 door Alero

That's strange, the original Chevy Beretta convertible prototypes (indy pace cars, and others) have a real convertible VIN.

The private company was Cars and Concepts in Detroit.
