yeah thats what i'm figuring on, once it cools back down i'll pull the upper manifold off and check everything?

did a complete recheck, even pulled the upper back off and sealed with silicone when i reinstalled it and it still whistles????

This probably is not it, but I had a whistling noise when my Upper intake manifold was cracked. They were almost not even noticible unless you were looking for them. Check around all the bolts for hair line cracks. Like I said, this probably is not your case, but it happened to me so......
Oh also, try poking and pulling at the gasket between the UIM and LIM while the engine is running and see if you can get it to stop by pulling the gasket one direction or another. That was the case on mine as well cause the UIM was not seated perfectly onto the LIM and air was whistling like no other through the gasket until I took a zip tie and tied the gasket tight to the UIM. Hope this helps...

i dont have to worry about the gasket, it is completely siliconed on now, cracks may be another story? i'll take it to work and spray ether around and see if it changes anything?

You sure ya got all the vacuum lines on right? I had a whistling sound when i forgot to put the line onto the purge solenoid all the way once.

well it has all changed now, i have driven it a few times, now it whistles at part throttle, so i dont know, i'm gonna buy another set of gaskets pull it back apart clean off the silicone and try again without silicone and see what happens, i dont want the silicone hindering any air flow.

Wait, is this when you are at idle, or when you are driving that it is whistling. Does it go away when you get on the gas and come back when you are off the pedal at a redlight or something?

that is how it is acting.
but now i have a new scenario, when i got to work i sprayed ether around all areas of the upper intake, and found no leaks, but my friend noticed that both bolt ears on the belt side of the intake are cracked, (but not leaking) so now i have to do this all over again, with my original intakes, i had a thread hole crack on the tranny side of the lower intake, the sad part is i torqued everything to spec.

Yeah, it can be a hairline crack. And yeah, mine was doing the exact same thing as far as the whistling when my UIM was cracked. I still have it laying around somewhere, maybe i'll snap a couple pics tomorrow in the daylight.....
I had mine torqued to specs as well, but I made the fatal mistake of mashing the UIM onto the injector wiring harness. You don't think it's mashing the harness, but it is. The UIM has to lay PERFECTLY flat onto the LIM. If there is any rocking whatsoever then you know that you are crushing the wiring harness. And surprisingly, the aluminum manifold will crack before you will break that dang fuel injector wiring harness. It took me and my brother to get it to seat correctly. 1 person to manuver the wiring harness under the UIM, while I was holding the UIM in place till it sat perfectly onto the LIM. Then I held it down tight once it was seated nicely while my brother grabbed the bolts and bolted it down.

besides the whistle, the dam thing runs excellent, i have gotten my low end power back, and 3 people have told me that my exhaust tone is different now, so i'm gonna leave it for now, and start porting my original manifolds, for future install.
