do that. not really any other options unless you mean wai, turbo, supercharged, nitrous or whatever. unless you have the 2.4, you can do the manifold swap

looks, sounds, and performs better.

i think he has the 3400 greg.... lol he's on the 3400 forum :P

maybe he's talking about an air tornado? I guess those work according to marc......

theres not too much else you can do to your intake.... except maybe get your TB ported and and get a bigger intake mani....

hee haha funny, f*** u.unless ur retarded, you should know what a cold air intake is, ive put them on befo and dident knotice the difference, so i was tryin to ask someone if it helped the 3400 at all. i had one on my mustang. ( and the intake was already ported and polished female dog) all i wanted was a simple answer yes or no mother f***er. not (what a noob :P ) ive been working on building cars sience i was ten. i rebuilt my first engine (5.0) stang when i was 14. im not a noob i just want to know if a cold air intake was worth wasting my time and money. :gun: :gun: :gun: :gun: :gun: :gun: :gun: :gun: :gun: :gun: :gun:

yes the CAI is worth it.

you should settle down some. rather than letting what knowledge you have cause you to be arogant. you use to help others and pass the knowledge on.

the noob comment was to himself for skimming your question. relax

and, as far as time goes, the total install takes about 30 minutes, and that includes removing the resonator from the fenderwell.

Welcome, you may want to slow down your typing a bit, so we can understand it better. It looks like the spelling of a 4 year old, which I'm sure you're not. :)

People who are not noobs dont ask simple questions like this. This is a noob question, no ifs ands or buts. If you have rebuilt so many motors then you already know that a CAI wont do a whole lot for any car. Its a place to start though.

Yah I think you should put in a cold air intake "befo" you do anything else. Very good starting point and noticable difference including a great deep noise when you hit the gas. You gain about 10 hp (correct me if im wrong).

Yeah, dead wrong. Maybe if your VERY lucky MAYBE 5 hp and thats at the crank. Which is like 2 hp at the wheels, if that.

the coment about the cia was not a noob question, i dident notice the difference in my contour svt, or my stang. so i was wondering if it was a waste of my time(if it would be noticeable in the 3.4) oh well, ill quit ,kno one believes that i have expierence in the area, ill just go with it insted of fighting it

Well, the "Short-Ram" intake on the Ecotec adds 5.39 HP at the wheels on the ecotec (dyno tested in a cavalier). Yet on my mom's '02 GMC Sierra Denali, a cold-air adds 15.17 horsepower. So all in all it can't hurt.

im gonna go against the crowd and say no it isnt worth it. unless your planing on dropping a lot of money into your ho to make it almost a fast car. aleros have decent speed but will never be the best. so why try? the cai will give u more performance at higher speeds, wai at lower speeds. seeing as how more hoes are modded to look/sound nice than seriously perform at the track i would say just go with a wai. will get a nice sound, some performance and its easier/cheaper to install.

heres an easier answer.

to each his own.

if you think its worth it based on the research you have done, then by all means go for it ^_^

because i cant afford the best, most people can not, so i wanted to make the car as fast as i could withe the low budget i have now.

the general price range for a WAI and a CAI are about the same (off by about $10-20 depending on who you get it through)

ebay should have something and double0 here makes WAI for the 3400 and its fairly cheap for the quality of the intake fom what i hear. again, just look around and see what you like/can afford.

Huh, a newb calling another newbie a newb, that's great!

As far as the CAI, I think it is worth it. By allowing your car to suck in air and expel it quicker, you free up the hp that the factory hid.
